Did you guys really make Red xiii a dog instead of a character?
Hes not scooby what the actual ♥♥♥♥ game writers.

My only issue with Red XIII is his voice, he's still a dog and displayed dog characteristics in the original like growing and howling.

Ok i'll rephrase, he's from the dog family, he has urges and behavioural patterns that are similar to a dog, point is that he's like that in the first game so nothing is wrong in this one.

Pretty much, all his character is basically people thinking he's a dog or a mascot of some sort, or just a sniffing tool.

Red is from an unnamed species closer to a w wolf or dog. He growls, has a scent like a dog, all the kids in the game think he's a dog. I mean there is no contest here, if you actually think he's a cat there is something wrong with your brain. He's a protector like a dog. All dog traits.
