I see a HDR luminance setting, but no HDR on/off setting
Is it forced on by default?

Yes. If you want to turn it off you need to disable it in Windows display setting first.

Just wanted to make sure it was actually turned on. I have auto-HDR activated so I guess it is. Maybe that explains some of the weird lighting. Like when you move the camera and suddenly everything gets a lot brighter.

If the game supports HDR, does it override the "auto-HDR"?

I truly dont understand auto-HDR anyway. HDR tone mapping is always a manually tuned thing in movies by the colorist or whoever dictated by art direction and stuff. Shouldnt this be the case for games too? Genuinely curious, how does this work for the games artistic intent?
