Going insane about optimizing dlss settings
I’m playing at 1440p with dlss and have found it’s pixelated no matter what I do. I even injected the cyberpunk dlss stuff as people say afterwards it’s crystal sharp which for me it’s not.

More over I’ve tried 66% and 66% still looks odd I’ve mainly gotten decent results at 100% on both but again my lack of dlss knowledge is a bit limited but I’ve seen people say turn the graphics to medium but then it looks blurry with dlss

More oddities is sitting the menu screen for a min makes it even more pixelated while characters models start have warped faces it’s pretty cursed.

Looking for suggestions and really venting my frustrations with this. I just wish they had done what capcom has done with most of there pc ports with customizations and competent anti aliasing then relying on just dlss and pssr to unblur the games. Can’t wait for a mod for that in the future that supports better antialiasing.

Specs ryzen 9700x, 3080ti FE, 32gb ddr5

Or set DLSS min and max both to 66%, that would be DLSS Quality.

Now close the game and go to https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/74?tab=files
Download the FFVIIHook Rebirth beta4 file.
Also download Nvidia Inspector.
https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases
extract it somewhere and put the XML profile file from https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1i82rp6/dlss_4_dlls_from_cyberpunk_patch_221/ (Step.3) next to it.

Put the 'nvngx_dlss.dll' file from that thread to "common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Engine\Plugins\DLSSSubset\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64\nvngx_dlss.dll" and replace.

Navigate to '"common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End\Binaries\Win64\ff7rebirth_.exe" and put the xinput.dll from the FFVIIHook file next to it.

Open Nvidia Inspector and drag the ff7rebirth_.exe onto the window. A profile for FF7 rebirth will be created.
Find "DLSS 3.1.1+ FORCE DLSS PRESET" setting in the list and select Preset J.
Save the profile (upper right corner) and close Inspector.

Navigate to 'C:\Users\Yourusername\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Saved\Config' and put the engine.ini that came with FVIIHook there.
Open that file with an Editor and copypaste:

r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0
r.FastBlurThreshold=0
r.MotionBlur.Amount=0
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.MotionBlur.Scale=0
r.MotionBlurIntensityOverride=0
r.MotionBlurLimitationOverride=0
r.MotionBlurRestrainOverride=0
r.MotionBlurScatter=0
r.MotionBlurSeparable=0

Now save the file and you are done. If you did it all correctly, the game uses DLSS4 and the least amount of motion blur.
On my 4070 TI Super i get about 90-120 frames on 4K DLSS Quality, everything else maxed out, and its very clean looking.
After all these edits i had to swap to the low graphic profile and back to max once, had some weird texture and LOD popin first. Toggling the preset fixed it.
Good luck, enjoy!

Turn DLSS off. If the game doesn't work without it then it's not optimised and should be refunded.

It works without it but the options are pretty crappy like base ps5 levels of blurry. I had played originally on ps5 and was like “wow I wanna even amazing experience” and everyone’s like “dlss is the best way to play it as the other options are blurry” I’d refund but luckily only got it for $18 so not too worried in that sense just frustrated I can’t seem to get the same results despite having a similar rig

Its the TAA blur, you can't completely eliminate it, unless you somehow disable the games anti aliasing methods but then you'll get a fuzzy dithering mess, using DLDSR along with DLSS will help alleviate it.
Check the resolution, if it's wrong set it to windowed, set the correct resolution then set back to borderless

Using a scaler with a sharpener slider in loseless scaler got rid of a lot of the TAA blur for me, it was quite noticeable with the NIS sharpener set to 4.

I have 1 3080 12gb and have dlss on, 100 max, 100 min (so DLAA) and everything at high and ultra and am getting around 90 fps, so I am surprised you need to turn anything down to medium?

Pretty much what I'm doing, DLDSR + DLSS with FSR in Lossless Scaling set to 3, clean sharp image.
Using Reshade helped make the image way clearer for me at least.

Okay, here is what you will do:

♥♥♥♥ dlss, you have a 3080. i have a rtx3080 and run it on 4k 60fps locked, here's how

first off, what is your resolution set to in the settings, and what resolution is your monitor?

after that set it to 60fps, and put everything else on 100%/ultra/high

save the game and close it, then go to your nvidia control panel and select rebirth (don't do it globally, just on this game) and set the frame limit to 60fps. for some reason this will boost performance, idk why but it worked for me

now go back to the game and it will run like butter.

if you still have problems idk man you have a better rig than i do. get the latest driver for your 3080. do you have the nvidia app installed? uninstall it, it causes performance drop by 10-15%. beyond that just get rid of anything you don't need in your startup apps and reboot your pc

Just wanted to confirm switching to low and back to high preset fixing the LOD pop in.

I've already did most of this, but fantastic guide, will help people a ton!

It’s not like an fps problem it’s dlss being weird and not upscaling properly so the character models are super pixelated same with even the trees. I found that helped other people who are using dlss in other games but still didn’t work lol
