Any way to force a higher resolution?
I have a 1080p monitor but I would like to run the game at 1440p to reduce some of the blurryness (I have a 7800XT, it runs the game at 2K with no issues, I tested by changing my display's default res). Some people keep talking about borderless mode defaulting to your monitor's resolution but Intergrade allowed me to change it even in borderless mode, was able to play that game in 4K with no issues.

And I've tried the tactic of going to windowed mode, choosing my desired res, then pressing alt+enter to go fullscreen, but it doesn't work. Even while still in windowed mode, changing the resolution isn't doing much, I still get the same image quality and performance, even in supposedly 4K, so I think the setting is just broken and not doing anything.

Any other way to force the resolution to something else?

Doesn't work. Borderless fullscreen will use the resolution of your desktop, even when it says something else in the drop down.

Use FFVIIHook and put

[ConsoleVariables]
r.Setres=3840x2160f

or whatever res you want in your Engine.ini and the game will run in exclusive fullscreen at that resolution.

You should be playing at the same resolution as your desktop.. mine is 1440p.

not necessarily. DLDSR exists for a reason and playing at a higher resolution than your monitor does help with anti aliasing. This game just has non existent amd support, and borderless fullscreen doesn't help either

Mine is 1440p too and I play at 4k DSR. It's night and day especially in this game. Try it sometime.

The fullscreen resolution matches your monitor. Upscale your monitor in Windows display settings, but none of this will solve your problem anyway. TAA just looks blurry.
It's called supersampling and you can easily enable it in your Nvidia control panel if it's not naively supported in a game. Its under DSR - Factors. Easy.
This is my go-to app:
https://www.bcheck.net/apps/reso
for resolutions bigger than your monitor, enable dsr in the Nvidia control panel first.
