Any way to force a higher resolution?
I have a 1080p monitor but I would like to run the game at 1440p to reduce some of the blurryness (I have a 7800XT, it runs the game at 2K with no issues, I tested by changing my display's default res). Some people keep talking about borderless mode defaulting to your monitor's resolution but Intergrade allowed me to change it even in borderless mode, was able to play that game in 4K with no issues.

And I've tried the tactic of going to windowed mode, choosing my desired res, then pressing alt+enter to go fullscreen, but it doesn't work. Even while still in windowed mode, changing the resolution isn't doing much, I still get the same image quality and performance, even in supposedly 4K, so I think the setting is just broken and not doing anything.

Any other way to force the resolution to something else?

Dudes, for god sake... Take the FFVIIHook Rebirth version from NEXUSMODS, generates the engine.ini and put down below [ConsoleVariables] the line r.setres=2560x1440f and you will get the forced resolution on FULLSCREEN.
Thank you, I missed your other comment, my bad. Wasn't aware there was already a FFVII hook for Rebirth, will check that out.
Yep, tried and works. And it really is fullscreen exclusive now, which makes alt-tabbing a bit more annoying but hey I'll take that :D
Tried it out, and it does work, hooray! The only downside is that because I'm in fullscreen, putting the game in 2K messes with my refresh rate (lowers it to 75hz), so I get some screen tearing unless I turn on VSync, which ofc caps it to 75fps instead of 90.

I tried removing the "f" in the .ini file to get the game in borderless windowed, but it doesn't fit the screen that way. Anyone knows a line of code to make the game fit my display while rendering in 2K? Much appreciated.
Nexus mods has an FSR, XESS and DLSS injector mod that's easy to install. I used it and forced FSR3, and the game is cleaner now (Frame gen can work too but did not try it) - although it is a bit more demanding, it's making me think maybe even at 100%, the TAA and TAAU are still doing something funky.

Maybe give that a try to at least use XESS or FSR's native AA's to try to eek out more clarity?

just get the hook from nexus and put r.setres=2560x1440f on engine.ini
What hook? I can't find it.

Super Resolution in AMD driver turn it on and wola you can now get 4k on your 1080p monitor set the monitor to 4k and then 4k in the game, but do not except much because your monitor just have 1080p pixels and a 4k monitor has way more, just to change the resolution wont change anything.
doesn't work for me sadly (7800xt)

Turn on super resolution on the AMD software's settings, not the game profile. Then you have to change your actual display's resolution, in Windows' settings.

you can use the Radeon Super Resolution to get your monitor to higher Resolution but this wont profit you anything because your monitor has just 1080p pixels and there is no magic where you can make more out of it, it is a hardware limit.
All you will get is reduced Frames, but 0 Visual Quality.
yeah you can force the game to run at a higher resolution, theres a mode in the AMD control panel called Virtual Resolution. Personally i wouldn't recommend it as it does nothing to alleviate the blurriness.

rather you can use Alt + R to open the control panel in game, for the in-game specific stuff like frame gen,FSR3, Sharpening or whatever. even if the game doesn't have internal support AMD's software allows you to use it in any borderless fullscreen game for FSR 3 and Frame Gen on 6000 series and up cards.

frame gen and sharpness alleviate the blurryness.

another thing you can do is if you click the dropped down for advanced you can override the application antialiasing method and use amd hardware method.

It 100% does, but the resolution setting is broken in Rebirth. Changing the resolution, even in windowed mode, isn't actually doing anything. But if you do force the display resolution to go higher, the game absolutely looks sharper. I'm already using AMD's sharpness, set to 100%. Looks fine in 1440p, I just didn't want to have to change my monitor's resolution every time, but oh well.
Try to use a program named Res-O-Matic i uploaded it beware that this dont work with the cvar r.setres=2560x1440f

Im running 1440p. So yes. The Res options are available on window mode I think. Then you just switch it back to full screen borderless after changing your res.

Doesn't work. Borderless fullscreen will use the resolution of your desktop, even when it says something else in the drop down.

Use FFVIIHook and put

[ConsoleVariables]
r.Setres=3840x2160f

or whatever res you want in your Engine.ini and the game will run in exclusive fullscreen at that resolution.

You should be playing at the same resolution as your desktop.. mine is 1440p.
