For the longest, longest time you can just set your mode to classic and control him manually, stand back, blast with his basic attack until you get max ATB then Maximum Fury for insane damage.

Rinse, lather repeat with dodges, blocks, parries as needed.

Bonus round is wild. Always make sure to keep this up and he does crazy damage.
