Needed a new GPU anyway
RX 6600 experiences with this game before I buy? I'm not an hardcore gamer so don't want to spend more than I have to, but I will admit my RX 580 was getting dated. I don't need super high graphics and FPS so high I can't tell the difference anyway, just want to make sure the 6600 will run the game moderately well.

I was researching this earlier since I also need to buy a new card (GTX 1060, sad face) and I was leaning towards an RTX 3060 when I started looking into the RX 6600. I did notice this video comparing a number of cards, one being the RX 6600 with high settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pft6qFDtwE4

The RX 6600 Amazon link in his description for the ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Challenger D strangely goes to the page for the PowerColor Fighter AMD Radeon RX 6600 instead, with the former on Amazon for 259 and the latter for 199. I did watch a different video that compared something like 20 games between the RTX 3060, 6600 and 6600 XT, and the 6600 XT was on par with the 3060 with the 6600 not terribly far behind. I'll have to comment on his video and find out which card he used because I'd be curious if a $50 difference is indeed worth it or not.

ok to treat yourself to a new one within your means. Sometimes it is deserved.

Don't do it yet. the Gtx 1660 fix works. I just launched it and it's playing very smooth!

If you can then I would get a used 3070 from ebay. You can find a few great deals in the 250-300 USD range. That way you are more future proofed for the next 3-4 years and can use DLSS for even more FPS gains.

Won't help me because I have a 1060, I can apply the DLL, but I get the shader error. :(

Ooh, ebay is a good point. I always forget about that site. :)

Just waiting for September to roll around and I'm getting a whole new rig.

This laptop has served me well and I'm still gonna use it for mobile stuff but it's time I get a tower because this mobile grade 2070 just isn't cutting it anymore.

Oh damn! Sorry I misread that it was a 1060. :( Sorry!

I got a Zotac 4080 for $900 using Paypal Pay in 4. So I pay about $215 every two weeks (which is perfect for me because that is when I get my paycheck). Just make sure they have items sold and customer ratings. I now get 150 fps using DLSS Framegen (using Optic Scaler) and DLSS Quality (using the new Transformer image) on 4k Ultra. The game doesn't hitch, no pop in, crazy performance and looks incredible.

Nice man, grats on the card. It's a beastly one and you're setup for a long ass time.

was your parents drunk and hit your head when you was a baby too much times on a table ?

The Rx6600 is like 40% faster then a GTX 1660 and you tell him to get a GPU that do not support newest Feautures over one that does ? braindead for real.

Yes my entire rig needs an upgrade.

I ran it on a better CPU with a 6600 XT and had to set everything to low. Not sure what you are expecting here.

If you don't mind 30fps at 1080p go for it, RX 6600 can play pretty much all new games maxed out that way.

I got one and I'll probably replace it by july. 8GB VRAM is getting problematic going forward (not in this game tho)
