which FF7 game to play?

Hey everyone,

I've never played any FF7 game before. I'm amazed there are FIVE different one on Steam now. Is it a good idea to play any of these as my "first" ff7, or should I play the PS1 version instead? :)

Hi you can start in that order :
- FFVII PS1 (original game )
- FFVII crisis core Reunion (its a prequel )
- The movie Advent Children Compléte ( its a sequel )
- FFVII Remake
- FFVII Rebirth

Def play the OG first, this Remake project is mainly aimed at people who already played the original. You will lose A LOT of references and little nods, same as the story bits, if you start playing Remake first. And another thing, Remake project is a trilogy, so you will have to wait literally 3-4 more years till you get to see the "ending", Rebirth ends on a massive cliffhanger. And the developers said time and time again that the story will not change at all and will stay faithful to the OG. So there is no reason to wait another 3-4 years to see how the story ends.
TLDR: Play the OG, then play the Remake and Rebrith.
