Ultrawide fix is out guys.
Enjoy, can't believe moders can do this so fast and devs can, like seriously...

Worked for me, no virus detected

I put into a VM and did a thorough scan. Yes, Windows AV threw a false positive. My bad...

The moders keep saving our buts man, last one they did, it was FF16. I can't believe a dude can provide this fix but the devs from the company can't. Obviously its not perfected fix but the devs could make it quite perfect. For cinematics, if nothing else works, add black bars but allow gameplay ultrawide.
Thank you for the info, will give this a go tomorrow.

It was great, I've played for 1.5 hours or so, all you do is download the think and extract in main game folder. You don't even need to select a resolution, you get into the game and its all set, at least for me.
Does it allow the prerendered cutscenes to be played with black bars? My problem with the flawless wide-screen mod for the first game was that it cause the cutscenes to be zoomed in and that was a deal breaker for me. Hopefully this mod would keep a purist like me happy. Also, are there any map problems?
the map is buggy ? in remake this was the same buggy map with ultrawide patch

No black bars during cutscenes, no idea if its stretched or whatever but it look good to me.
The map seems fine to me, its not stretched, you can see the world on the left and right as you open it.

I can also attest to the fact that whether its zoomed in or not, it looks super immersive in ultrawide. If it is zoomed in, I don't think it's by a lot, everything seems as I remember it when playing on PS5, but it's been a while now so perhaps my memory is failing me.

Map is a little glitchy though, but that's a mild inconvenience.
I am getting a white screen everytime I change it from windowed to full screen. Any ideas anyone?
it works but i get shader cache error and the game runs but cant save anymore. anyone know how to fix this?

The map glitches like it did in ff7 remake(random patches blink in and out of view as you move around).

Some cinematics and QTE scenes just get the bottom and top chopped off. The shinra news report at the start or cloud's button prompts to crawl during the prologue are obvious ones.

OP did a disservice not mentioning this is a day one in-progress patch. A lot of you don’t read things and will use this patch thinking it’s a day one perfect fix. The in game wide screen is fine. But the videos are all zoomed in so I wouldn’t recommend actually using it until it’s past v0.0.1 and you look at his patch not updates to see if he fixes the video. Until then use a 16:9 display or black side bars on your ultra wide.
