Synergy?

Yo, any idea how the Synergy stuff is supposed to work? It seems like it's stuff you can do instead of or while blocking, but there's also special Limit Break style Synergy moves that you need pips to do? How do ya get them pips? I didn't seem to get any in Chapter 1.

Did you see those vertical blue bars under the faces when you select synergy? Those bars on the bottom that are Blue, mean you have to use abilities that many times on those characters before its usable. So lets say one requires Red and Barret to both have three, that means you need to use 3 abilities for each of them before you can synergy.
