I have it on an External SSD.
However, to see if its an issue reading, I'm going to try moving it onto my M.2 NvMe, and see if that helps at all.
Hmmm. I've reloaded a few times and it still crashed.
I'm currently validating files and moving it to a faster SSD, I'll report back the results.
Hope you get it fixed.
I moved my FFVII Rebirth install to my M.2 NvMe drive.
Immediate results; Game loads faster, textures are there, eliminating the need for them to pop-in, and I was able to successfully skip the cutscene that was causing the crash.
Going to run some additional tests, but that's tomorrows stuff.
Let me know if anyone wants to know if I find out anything more tomorrow!
tl;dr: Moved game to a faster SSD. Crashing stopped.
I gave up for the night and started it back up today, still with the low graphic settings and low resolution and I was able to skip and finally save without having the fatal crash.
No idea why it worked today but maybe the restart of my computer made a difference?
I meet all the specs by a good margin and everything is updated.
It does seem however that that cutscene in particular is a problem for many.
