Smoother Gameplay Tips
4090 / 5900x here. Whatever blind people are saying, the game IS stuttering at least a bit, but on top of that has pretty bad frametimes out of the box (pretty sucky 1 percent low but I think it's because we are asking too much of it due to confusing settings)

It can be mitigated to an almost perfectly smooth experience though. Here are my findings:

A / the game frame limiter is GARBAGE. Do not use it. By that I mean, set it to 120 FPS and either use your nvidia panel, app or RTSS to cap your FPS to something underneath (I did 85 here, I'm on a VRR panel).

B / The DLSS options are extremely confusing because I don't think they have ever been presented that way in a game before.

Basically, if you use DLSS at 100 percent resolution, I think it is the equivalent to DLAA. So it's obviously super expensive. I also think having dynamic resolution on (so a different MAX resolution and MIN resolution) causes additional frametime variance because of switching.

My opinion (I can't pixel count like digital foundry) is that Resolution 66 percent is DLSS Quality, and then as you go down it goes balanced, and performance, or something kinda equivalent.

So set min and max to the same value depending on your hardware, and tell me how it feels with A and B.

After doing that, I still have a little bit of stuttering but honestly even if the game was not patched I could live with it (and I'm a picky snob...)

All the best :)

I'll try then when I'm home, I'm on a 4090, i9 13900k, 64gb ram playing at 1440p, I found when I got to nibleheim and was panning the camera around cloud it was mega choppy like dropping frames. Although weirdly it was choppy but frame were still steadish. Strange, as the beginning intro with zack was perfect. I'll give your Fix a go
