Runs like crud on steam deck
even on lowest settings. It ran ok in the first part but it all went to heck when I got to Nibelheim. Hair is just horribly pixelated, constant stuttering, crashes after a few minutes of play, most frequently when a cut scene happens. I had to shut down my deck to get out of it.

I'm at 93 minutes of play but i'll give it ten days before I refund in case they push out a fix; it's unplayable like this. I don't get it; Remake/Intergrade ran fine on steam deck.

I am a few hours in, just got a Chocobo and I am very happy with how this is running on my handheld game machine at 720p on a 7.4 inch screen... I have had no crashes, and my performance has been mostly 30fps. Lucky me!

This game is much more demanding even though some would try to convince you otherwise.

I'm not surprised it got verified. That basically just means it works. It doesn't mean it's a good experience though.

I love my Steam Deck. You just have to be realistic about what you can do with it.

Yeah. I wouldn't ever run anything 9th gen on my mine personally. That just sounds like bad mojo.

it got verified because of $$$

this port is BS no matter your rig
This is absolutely false, i'm 4 hours in and frankly the experience has been perfect.

The fact it holds a stable 30fps in a busy area like Kalm is nothing short of incredible, personally i'm very, very happy with how this turned out and it absolutely deserves the verified tag.

It doesnt hold 30 consistently and drops down to the low 20s in towns. More work can be done for sure.

The reports I've seen all say 720p 30 FPS works most of the time, but with heavy popin.

That's simply not true billy. This is the definitive version of the game now if you've got the hardware for it.

The Steam Deck is not that hardware though.

It doesn't though? I've played for 4 hours through both of the early heavy towns, Nibelheim and Kalm, and in both cases there were momentary stutters to 27 or so but absolutely nothing that detracts from the experience.
This is with minimum resolution scaling set to 66% which makes the blurriness disappear too.

The whole experience is honestly incredible.
My game is full of missing textures and bugs :(

After having to reboot every 30mins ~ I’ve given up…

Hopefully we get a major update for steam deck soon.
You need to re-activate the DLSS and frame generator, who are set as inactive by default (and the option is not in the games menu).

Do what the guy in the video (below) says and you'll run it on high settings at around 30-40 fps pretty much all the time (cutscenes and open world may go more around 25-35 fps):

I'm incredibly surprised at the quality of details and pretty much no issues after doing this.

Same 12 hours in solid 30fps been enjoyin the exploration
When will you open your eyes ppl? These things are just an waste of money.. why, they cost as mucch as a high tier gpu .. !!

Handhelds or Laptops/notebooks aren't equiped with decent guns/hw to have an great game experience..

Unless you pay for a 6K portable console ..

What settings are you using? I'm not having constant issues and my only crash was 11 hours in
