That appears to be the answer to every question on this topic. If you're not running a 5090 you're poor and entitled.
That's what I would try as well, disabling the integrated GPU to see if it works properly then.
Perhaps you can add the EXE manually in Nvidia control panel.
Maybe its defaulting to the louncher EXE that most Unreal engine games use in the root folder so try and add the one above to Nvida control panel and set it to use only the RTX 4070
if the per app in the windows settings and NVIDIA control panel does not work. You can try Nvidia inspector or Nvidia profile Inspector and try and force it that way. IF that does not work.
Open the Registry Editor: Press Windows + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.
Navigate to the Key: Go to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftDirect3D
Create a New Key:
Right-click on the Direct3D folder, select ‘New’, and choose ‘DWORD (32-bit) Value’.
Name it UseAlternateDevice.
Set the Value:
Double-click on the newly created UseAlternateDevice entry and set its value to 1 to force usage of the discrete GPU.
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
That should system wide force the DGPU
In any case, I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. The solution was the same, even though I reached it in a different way. I’ll also try adding the game to the NVIDIA Control Panel, as for now, it doesn’t recognize the game and doesn’t allow me to optimize it through the NVIDIA program.
OK, I didn’t know. I use only desktops for gaming and my first job is to disable the integrated GPU if there is one.
Nvidia app can't optimize and in game settings it shows amd gpu only.
The thing is that I don't think the game runs under the amd gpu. Game looks too good and it's fluid. Also we see the Nvidia pop-up when the game starts. But it still weird anyways.
I will check Lenovo vantage later
