Crashing on AMD GPU
Chapter 1 - Getting crashes in multiple cutscenes. Been running at 120 fps, don't know if that is what's causing the issue. I disabled the Adrenalin software overlay, but it didn't help. Also disabled CFG in Windows Security after the first crash.

Anyone else?

UPDATE: Replacing the DirectStorage DLL files in the game's directory, [...\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End\Binaries\Win64], with the ones found at: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Direct3D.DirectStorage/ and disabling VRR on the AMD Adrenalin software fixed the issue for me. Also playing at 60 fps / Vsync on to be safe. Had to start a new file, but apparently you can just delete the old DirectStorage cache for the same effect.

All cards have this crash, its nothing amd related.
Its something weird with dx12, SE was never good at making decent pc ports.
They'll probably release a patch within the next few days.

Meanwhile you can reduce the scaling from 100 to 60 or 50% as placeholder

I use AMD and it works quite decent besides the annoying stutter in towns/cities.
Its AMD, what do you expect?

It is literally AMD related, and is listed as a "known issue" on the latest optional drivers. The game was released with zero actual AMD driver support.

Tell that the nvidia and intel users who reported the same problem.
I'm also on amd actually but 0 problems so far (not sure why it works on some rigs and some don't, looking into SE's core is always a mess to look through), I don't like SE in general since they're by far the worst company when it comes to pc ports.

Except RS2R which had a surprisingly decent launch for some reason, I was shocked how well it worked from day1

Eitherway, I expect a patch within the next few business days, so either today or monday

Yeah I mean,it's incredible that last month's driver is what I'm using to play the game. 0 "actual" support, lol.

Congrats, your GPU is functional. That has nothing to do with official driver support. You know, like how Nvidia has a full team go to AAA game studios to ensure day one support for their cards? AMD just doing AMD things.

Try forcing max 60.

From my experience crashes only happened on high fps and max settings.

All I did was just to cap max fps without lowering other settings and crashes stopped.

I feel like issues is something related with stutters and vrr/vsync.

Thanks, I'll try that out. I guess I'll also put VSync back on too just in case.
