I've always really struggled to hear dialogue on stereo speakers, so a centre speaker (or an emulated centre speaker on headphones) is essential for me. I really don't want to have to put the subtitles on, I hope someone figures out how to enable the centre speaker, so I can hear what the hell they're saying!
Irritatingly, turning the music/effects volume down doesn't seem to help at all, like the dialogue is mixed in :/
I really can't believe the dialogue doesn't have a separate channel of it's own!
Only issue I had with my surround setup was that music stilll was too loud sometimes even I set it to 7/10 in options. And yes, I didnt have those problems with remake too
I also checked "disable all enhancements" under the enhancements tab but I don't think that was the issue...still can't hurt to try.
EDIT:
After some testing I found the center is still low in volume with sound sources placed in the environment (voices, instruments, engines, etc). Before resetting the sound format setting the center was completely silent, so it's better but definitely not fixed.
I swear this wasn't the case before in Windows 10. I'm seriously considering going back.
