"FF7 Rebirth sold poorly on PC release" news incoming in the next months
I wonder why would that be...? Maybe because they think people will upgrade their graphics cards to play a game?

No, you are not a minority , or at least I don't think so :)

I'm sure Rebirth was my first preorder this decade -- but it was a safe preorder, knowing game's good.

I know, but we always "need" to have posts like "these" about sales and whatever, like it influences or matters if me, as a person, I like the game or not! I love games that probably a few people even heard about and even less played them and I have great memories! But, nope... if doesn't make some investor loaded in money... "is a bad game and no one should play it" type of mentality is ... what it is, I guess.

I may be viewing the early internet with rose-colored glasses, but I don't remember when virtually every user's initial intent is to just spread negativity and bile about absolutely anything and everything, no matter the topic.

It's like they're programmed to just instantly spew hate. Then again, we didnt have bots making up a large plurality of internet traffic maybe that has something to do with it

You can blame social media brainrot in general since the early 2010's, it just that there are entire generations raised on that cancer now

As for the sales, you're worrying for nothing. The sales are in line with the first-week sales of the best-selling FF titles on consoles when adults still bought consoles...

It has already become the best-selling FF on PC. On PS, people now mostly play CoD and FIFA, and now on PC, they are reaping what they should have collected at the console launch ( at the PS5 launch, there was a twin pack with Remake + Rebirth at a discount, which they recycled for the PC launch as well).

There are many signs to be calm about. The numbers are in line with the first weeks of the best FF titles from the good old console days (in terms of sales).

On PC, it has already become the best-selling FF ever.
They started marketing the PC game following the good response they were receiving (this is an anomaly because PC games are usually launched without any marketing campaign. For example, look at Spider-Man, which was released recently—did you hear anything about the PC launch?).

They also declared that it will no longer be exclusive and said they are reconsidering the idea of making DLCs and continuing to update it a bit more...

There are many signs that, when put together, prove that PC gaming is giving this title the recognition it deserves ^^

Yeah the only other game ive preordered in the last 6 or 7 years other than FF Deluxe Editions (bc they instantly get scalped otherwise) is Expedition 33 Deluxe just due to it being a GS exclusive and it does look solid. The Collectors is already sold out and the release date just got announced

I mean no ones worrying about it, we are just having a discussion about it. How it sells has absolutely no bearing on how much I like it. They already have the funding for the entire trilogy back when they made deals with Sony for exclusivity way back in probably 2015. Thats why they have all been timed exclusives - At any rate, they need to hurry up and finish part 3. CBU1/BU1/CS1 has always developed the mainline FFs and they have been stuck on this Remake project for way too long. It been a ride but this never needs to happen again for another Remake project or it will hamstring development of new FF titles until the year of our lord 2040

Ever since covid the worlds been super retarded.
ran like dogwater on a 13900k/4090 on release, its a bit better now, sad no support for 32:9 monitors, most games support this aspect ratio now days

I think by now is clear FF7 rebirth is a sell success on PC. Now is the time to face that good games will sell. And I think haters aways will gonna hate...

SE gote half done this time. They probably will get right next time. Maybe. I can't forgive then for not fix the shadow quality however...

You don't even need to buy a brand spanking new card, just buy a preowned 2070 or something.

You're either stubbornly clinging to hardware even more outdated than a 2070 or expecting a game made by a company KNOWN to make lackluster ports to play at 4K Ultra 240fps.

Mate I'm playing on a laptop with a 2070 in it and while I had to settle for low graphics settings and 30fps the game is running fine enough at 1080p to make it worth playing.

You can't have your cake and eat it man, get new hardware or start dropping some settings, either way, the fact that you're having a bad time is a YOU issue.

that reflects SE strategy. The game not selling well on PC is their own fault. They are known for it's trashy ports. FF7 rebirth is actually okish. It's not great however.
What not to like.
Story is great, all characters are rly likable and it look gorgeous, most likely the best looking game at the moment. We have huge world to explore and some interesting side activities and great Boss fights. IF its not for that Costa del Sol part of the game it would be 10/10 for me but Costa del Sol lowers that score to 9,5/10 because it is the worst part of the game and the one i dont want to replay ever again.

Oh, I don't know... how about all the woke DEI crap all over (deliberate and unrealistic overrepresentation of certain groups and ideologies to the detriment of others) put in there for ESG money at the behest of Sweet Baby (who still has SE on their client page) and Hit Detection (who's still listed in the end credits), unnecessary minigames, horrible sidelining of Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge rather than letting them return fully & completely alive and avoiding their original fates, SE being so stupid that they don't know the difference between acting and dancing and thus couldn't see that Jessie not being allowed to recite a single line of dialogue in her own play and actually ACT rather than just dance - not to mention being relegated to being just an opening act when she should've been the star of the whole thing in a LIVE performance - was an injustice and in insult to her and her character, as was denying her a chance to return alive and be part of the affection system complete with a Skywheel date with Cloud, especially after the cowards that were Nayo's group were allowed to do what Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge could've easily done instead had SE been daring enough to change their fates rather than reward the cowards who didn't have the courage to stay and fight for their home and community, and too many other things.

Oh, and of course, SE never once, in all its history, doing or saying a damn thing about the age of consent in Japan being only 13 until a year ago, never pushing for it to be raised to a more reasonable age and never coming out in support of the many girls who'd been abused over the years under cover of that terrible law, which was finally changed only after the outrage and uproar about it from the victims became too public for the Japanese government to ignore any longer. Given SE's inaction, it's very likely that at least some in the company were involved in the abuse, possibly even some of the top devs. Toriyama is one likely possibility given that he was the one who originally tried to put Marlene's underwear in the OG as an item for the Corneo dress quest while the game was being made. And there may be others. Anyone getting Rebirth is supporting a company that remained silent - and thus complicit by inaction - in the ongoing abuse of who knows how many young girls over the years.

SE doesn't care about you or anyone else here. They only see us as walking ATMs. They don't deserve anyone's support and don't have the vision or imagination to have taken FF7 away from the tired old familiar path and explore new possibilities and themes, change character fates, and leave their obsession with death and loss behind. It's best to abandon them and never look back.

Only 150k sales is not a success. It bombed on PS5, and it's not doing so well here, either. Sequels always sell less than their predecessors, many people were also turned off by Remake and refused to get Rebirth, and others aren't getting it because they don't want to start in the middle of a story.

150k is not best-selling. I don't know where you're getting your figures from. PS5 sales tanked as well. SE doesn't care about you, so you might as well stop shilling for them.
Then go play games from 2015 if that's what your graphic card can handle. Yeah WItcher 3 is great, Metal Gear 5 is great, plenty of stuff to do. if you can't keep up, the devs won't stop tech just to wait for you.
