This game just freezes and crashes after about 15 - 30 minutes no matter what so I don't think it's a steam deck thing, just a badly optimized game or a memory leak or something.

Via my Steam Dock it crashed the first time loading up the game in Desktop mode. So, I loaded up via Game Mode and no problems. Later on after playing in handheld mode, I tried in desktop again its working just fine. In game mode check for any further downloads.
Had to set settings to low natively for SD and it was ok. I ended up just streaming it from my PC to SD oled to crank up the visuals and performance while chillin in bed. So far works better. I had to do the same with remake as native SD also needed lower settings and had minor stutters.
Legit having the same issue first 15 minutes just crashes and freezes constantly really hope they push out a patch.
Replying here in hopes that someone has a fix. Experiencing the same problem, I can go maybe 10-15 minutes before it crashes. It seems like there's a leak or something that causes it to crash the longer you play, because it's happened in cutscenes and gameplay at this point.

I've tried multiple Proton versions, including Experiment and ProtonGE, but it hasn't made any difference.

What proton versions have you tried?

Not sure if this is a reply to myself or not, but Proton 9.0-4, ProtonGE 9.22, and Proton Experimental. I also tried all three with Cryoutilities on and off, made no difference. The only possible outlier I can think of is that I'm getting it from a shared library, but I would think that'd be a problem downloading it, not actually playing.

That said, the original purchaser of the game tried it on his Deck, and while it does work without crashing, he mentioned having to change the settings due to poor framerates (something well documented on this forum.) What I have gotten to play has been in 30 FPS and actually looks pretty good in my opinion. The issues he described with ghosting and stuttering haven't been an issue during the bits I have gotten to enjoy.

There's probably no correlation, but I'm curious to know how it's running for folks having this crashing issue like myself. Any suggestions for fixes are appreciated too.
Crashed after 10mins of play on my steamdeck
Seems for me steam video recording was causing game to crash, better now after disabling that.

I wish the points were worth a damn, cause I'd give you a whole lot more for this. Turned that off, was able to play for about an hour, uninterrupted. Thank you kindly for this fix, hope your Friday kicks ass!

Not just a Steam Deck issue, on my Windows desktop it consistently crashes after about 30-40 minutes of gameplay.

you can bet they'll patch it as soon as they can. they're hyper-commited to their Proton platform. there *are* third parties involved with it, however; a great many third parties depending on the issues requiring solution, so you might have to be a little more patient.

you can bet the ranch they're on it, though.

Try to set FPS limit 30 in deck settings. It may help
In less than 40 minutes of playing the game has crashed on my times. Don't know how to fix this
il gioco non si avvia appare subito la finestra di crash
