If your saves are still in Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE it should be fine. My problem is I bought Remake on Epic and Rebirth on Steam and now I can't claim the bonus items. Other than that you don't need the saves.

There's a 100% Remake save on Nexus Mods you can download and place in your FF7R save game folder if necessary, but unless you've formatted or something you should still have them.

Oh nice. Thanks! Will definitely try this. The game is currently unplayable for me with the bad stutters.

doesnt work for me, the save has to be associated with your account

I also played FFVII REMAKE on Epic. If you still have the savegame on your PC, the solution is to start FFVII REBIRTH from Steam so you get the Steam game id folder.

First, copy the whole folder <my documents>\my games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Steam
to <my documents>\my games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE
and then get your REMAKE savegames in there by copying all files
<my documents>\my games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\EOS\<super long ID>\*.sav
to
<my documents>\my games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\<steam game id>

and then go to "Bonus" in the main menu of FF VII REBIRTH. Worked for me.

Under the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE folder you need to create a Steam folder, then a folder with your steam id. If Rebirth is on steam, you can find that folder with that steam id. Then extract the save in there.

You can also get it from steam help if you need to retrieve it from Steam Cloud.. Go to Help->Steam Support->My Account->Data Related to your steam account and there should be a Steam Cloud option there. you can retrieve your save files from there.

Not sure on the details of getting Rebirth to recognise your remake files though.

Awesome! I will copy my epic saves, but with this trick. Hopefully a patch will come soon to make it playable for me.

If your autosave isn’t working it might be due to windows defender blocking access to the save folder.

Try this:

1 - Open windows security
2 - Go to 'virus & threat protection''→ Manage ransomware protection
3 - Click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access
4 - Add the game’s executable file (you can find it in the installation folder, usually in Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH).

You can download your own save files without reinstalling the whole game from this page:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorageapp/?appid=1462040
Just recreate the folders, rename the files and it should work
Worked fine here on my Steam Deck!

You need to put the .sav files in this folder: C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\YOURSTEAMID\
To get your long Steam ID, go to top right corner of Steam where your name is and select account details.

You also have to rename all files to ff7remake***.sav instead of the long name you download from that page
