FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

View Stats:
RTX 4060 8GB, I7 9700f, 16GB RAM... so, why?
Situation doesn't look good here at at all. Probably will wait 2 more days to see for community fixes, hotfixes or otherwise I'll have to ask for a refund. Horrific performance with blurriness due to the constant dynamic resolution downgrade DUE to the ultra-slow model preload and rendering issues. In the first town now after the starting introduction.
Street Fighter 6, Doom Eternal, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Baldur's Gate 3 ( after A LOT of patching) - all run like fairytale, EXCEPT this game.
Man I love this game, it will be a shame if I'll need to refund it.
How are you guys faring? I have literally everything enabled, tweaked, optimized and no matter the IN-GAME settings it's always THE SAME like that!

No chance to record any videos on OBS with NV12 and sRGB, so again, please tell em how are you faring guys? What's the situation?

AMD probably needs to update their graphic drivers. That's what the AMD gpu owners are saying in general.
probably 8gb of vram...

I personally think its insane that it doesnt even let some people select their gpu and forces integrated graphics

Because of the shaders from Directx 12 Ultimate that's been used to create the game, which is locked to the gpu hardware you are using.

7950X3D and 4090... it's running fine, as you'd hope it would on that hardware. Native 4k/120 seems possible. Stutter is reduced compared to Remake, thanks to a shader pre-compilation, but not entirely eliminated (Unreal Engine strikes again).

Overall... it's not bad. Performance is good, but the visuals haven't been uplifted over the PS5 version as much as I'd hoped. It's nothing like as pretty as the likes of Alan Wake 2 or Indiana Jones. Lighting is flat and a bit last-gen in appearance. I'm surprised the system requirements are so high.

I'm currently a 9700k user who has been on the fence about upgrading my CPU recently, and this game seems to absolutely hammer the CPU. I'm getting large framedrops and stutters with practically constant high CPU utilisation in the 80-90+% range across all cores. but realistically it probably shouldn't be too surprising. The 9700 series is more than 6 years old at this point, and wasn't exactly the best product when it launched due to the lowered amount of threads and lack of hyperthreading. This is probably just one of those tipping point games that's just over the baseline of requiring an upgrade to a more modern architecture to run properly.

Tsk,tsk,tsk... where is the World going...?! Was it the same with Remake Intergrade on day 1? Do you know? I bought the Twin Pack and it ran perfectly yesterday, don't know how much fixes they released in a 4-year span.

PC gamers , as you well know, complain about lack of optimizations. In that aspect, the Rebirth fares better than the recent games. Remember how the Last of Us Part 1 had failed when it first launched on PC? Anyway, we are hoping that Square Enix will do whatever it can to streamline in-game settings and make it more versatile along with what they can do about ppl having gpus with vram of only 8 gb, but honestly with vram of 8 gb for modern games, you are asking for trouble.
You are totally right but there is one thing, even if I spend now to buy a whole new PC as my mobo won't accept any further upgrades, after 3 years when part 3 comes out it will be just the same. That is ridiculous. How much cash they expect to be injected in hardware EVERY OTHER YEAR? That is a waste. A total waste. Being playing for ages and it just gets worse. Probably just wait for the Triple Pack and then buy a new comp.
You are right that I am frustrated because that is THE ONLY single game that I wanted that DOES NOT run at all. Like I said, recording with OBS is impossible. Damn...
Otherwise thank you for the detailed analysis, both ways the corporate greed just gets worse...:steamfacepalm:

At least you can launch the game, some of us here are unable to due to having "old" GPUs (which can run any other game perfectly, but not this one, sigh)

This game has a version that runs on steam deck, its not that old GPUs can't run it's a ruse to try and get people to buy new GPUs.

At least DLSS is something that exists now, and in which NVIDIA is investing tons of money. In the past there was nothing like that, so you had to upgrade your hardware. There was no question about it. A new game wouldn't run properly otherwise.
So people have higher standards now, which is good. But they're unrealistic. Acting outraged because a brand new game doesn't run on your outdated hardware is unreasonable. It's to be expected. All things considered, your outdated hardware performs much better now than it ever did before
umm I throw my 2 cents here after reading a bit.

Buy real gaming pc ppl or buy console and try not run games with ancient GTX 1650 etc etc, it's time to upgrade.

at 2008-2016 that was serenity, they made games consoles in mind and so flagship GPU life cycles was even 8 years..nowadays it's half of that since technology has started to warp onwards again mainly cos consoles has caught up PC in graphics...serenity over, it's 90's again new tech pouring in every other year.

Vram 12gb is minimum now..been long time actually, at least a year. i7 CPU minimum..ofc AMD 7xxx3D is best choice..ty for Mobos running bad bioses and intel making old tech ♥♥♥♥ forced to run quicker than actually CAN.

It's to boost graphic card sales pure and simple, the game has a version that runs on steam deck so even potato PCs should be able to launch and run the game on low settings even if it only runs at 30 fps
