Another option is waiting for official drivers which will have DLSS override built-in, probably coming next month at or after the 5090 launch.
Apparently you actually don't need to force the preset at least for this game. I've heard many other games default to profile J as well. For FFVII Rebirth just the DLL swap is enough, it will use profile J.
Using DLSS Tweaks you can enable the hud that shows the profile in use.

Sorry, i dont see anything, no K profile, and dlss sr/rr/fg override settings are not even listed, and these custom xml files dont even contain any info about dlss settings... Settings group "other" is missing too.

Try using only the CustomSettingNames.xml provided with a NVPI downloaded direct from Github.
