That's nonsense the game ships with an old dll, 3.7.1 are from April last year it's not DLSS4 you only get DLSS4 with the 310.1.0.0 dll and Preset J.
I can confirm, mine was also 3.7.1
Yeah tried it out myself and performance was pretty much same but definitely looks better so keepin it as well.
If image quality is better then people could possibly lower to the balanced or performance DLSS setting with less clarity trade off which is a way it could benefit performance as the lower settings become more viable.
I play on a 4k display and use quality but I’ve seen reports from people running 1440p internal res with balanced or even performance being much better looking more viable than before.
I’ve tried it myself and yeah it really does. Sharper and much better clarity especially in motion. I recommend trying yourself.
