Force DLSS 4 Preset K with new transformer model for better image quality/clarity in motion
With the 572.16 WHQL nvidia drivers or newer and nvidia profile inspector you can force the game to use the latest DLSS dll and preset K. You cannot force it through the newest version of the Nvidia App as the game is not officially supported.

Preset K is for use with the new transformer model of DLSS 4.
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidia-dlss-4-transformers-image-quality/

Firstly, you CAN simply use the latest DLSS 310.2.1.0 and either manually replace the one in the gamer files yourself or use DLSS swapper and it will automatically use DLSS tranformer model with Preset K. No need to change anything in NPI it will default to K. This other method I am going to show through Nvidia Profile Inspector I think is a more streamlined process once you learn it, since there is no manual DLSS swap/replace needed.

No DLSS swap needed here. All you need is the latest Nvidia Profile Inspector and I also recommend using this Custom XML file found here for an easier process: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/i...tsr-and-mods-etc.439761/page-185#post-6300235 -This post will be updated when they make changes

Direct Link to Custom XML: https://pastebin.com/rNKMuCGs

Rename the file to remove the .txt at the end so it's just "CustomSettingNames.xml' without quotations.

How to setup:
First: Install the latest Nvidia drivers: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Second: Download and extract the latest version of Nvidia Profile Inspector: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases

Third: Take the downloaded CustomSettingNames XML file [pastebin.com] from earlier and place it in the same folder with the Nvidia Profile Inspector executable. REMEMBER TO RENAME IT AND REMOVE THE .TXT IF PRESENT SO THE FILE IS NAMED CustomSettingNames.xml

Like so: https://u.cubeupload.com/DaemonCipher/f7bScreenshot2025020720.png

Fourth: Open Nvidia Profile Inspector and click on the little sun looking icon on the top row to create a new profile for FFVII Rebirth as there isn't one already. Name it whatever but I named it "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH" to match with Remake's profile name.

Fifth: Click the Add Application button on the top row and navigate to the location of the game's executable: "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\End\Binaries\Win64" and select the game's executable to add it which is "ff7rebirth_.exe".

Sixth: In the new profile you created, under the very first section labelled "DLSS Override", Click on the drop down options for "DLSS - Enable DLL Override" and select "On - DLSS overridden by latest available". Then, open the drop down options for "DLSS - Forced Preset Letter" and select either "K" or "Always use latest".

Should look like this when done: https://u.cubeupload.com/DaemonCipher/Screenshot2025021204.png

VII: Click on "Apply Settings" at the top right in Nvidia Profile Inspector and close, you're all set.

This should work with most if not all games that support DLSS2/3 natively.

To confirm that the game is using the newest DLSS DLL (310.2.1.0) and Preset K, you can enable the DLSS Indicator hud following this guide to enable/disable the setting in windows Registry Editor: https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-dlss-indicator/#comment-jump

Alternatively you can use DLSS tweaks to enable or disable the hud.

lmfao, NVIDIA is going to mald over this.

If that was the case, they wouldn't make it available for 20, 30 and 40 series.
This game has DLSS 4 by default. It’s labeled as DLSS 3.7.1, but it’s actually a bit more updated than the cyberpunk one. You can tell by the difference in the Mb size. I used a powershell script to update other games with rebirth’s DLL. Runs very well on the 4090. Can’t wait to see how it runs on the 5090.
Does is actually make a measurable difference? Is it even worth the effort? And where do you get the DLSS4 DLL file?

This new DLL with transformer model activated on Rebirth is a night and day difference. Playing with DLAA and all the blur from moving the camera is GONE. Motion clarity is superb now. I urge everyone to actually try it

Things like this is why I love PC gaming. I mean yea it takes a few minutes to setup, but the result is 100% worth it

I haven't compared it side by side, I just did the tweaks and enabled it. It looks great and without problems so I'm leaving it on.
Didn't help performance at all unfortunately. Frame rate for me is all over the place. I only played the game for like an hour and I was already playing at 6K, but its a 2.25x DSR-DL resolution, does appear to be sharper than it was before. It looked kinda blurry on some things. So far it's stable, so I'm gonna keep running it.

That's nonsense the game ships with an old dll, 3.7.1 are from April last year it's not DLSS4 you only get DLSS4 with the 310.1.0.0 dll and Preset J.

Yeah tried it out myself and performance was pretty much same but definitely looks better so keepin it as well.

If image quality is better then people could possibly lower to the balanced or performance DLSS setting with less clarity trade off which is a way it could benefit performance as the lower settings become more viable.

I play on a 4k display and use quality but I’ve seen reports from people running 1440p internal res with balanced or even performance being much better looking more viable than before.

I’ve tried it myself and yeah it really does. Sharper and much better clarity especially in motion. I recommend trying yourself.

The Reddit post I linked to has dl links for everything needed.

Hm.. Maybe mine is glitched
I noticed a massive amount of flickering in the treetops with profile J. This is entirely stable in the "old" dlss. Not sure why it happens..
Can someone share the CustomSettingNames.xml? Easy upload is down.
