Gamers, is it just me or is Tifa pretty much censored?
The black top under the white T-shirt looks like it was made in Paint within 5 minutes of the end of the game.

It is an objective fact that Tifa is censored, they openly admitted it, and that it was upon the advice of their "ethics department" which they used to brag about on their website, but I believe have now been removed. So people who say she isn't, or make implications about the people who point it out, are disingenuous. (They literally used the same "Haven't you ever seen a real woman?" lines against the creator of Stellar Blade... who has a beautiful wife, and the character based on a real model, doubly proving their own stupidity.)

The real question is how much it bothers us as consumers. Just the thought of an "ethics department" altering creative vision is cringeworthy. What bothers me more in FF7R are various scenes that were censored and lack the narrative impact of the original, despite better graphics. I despise censorship in any form, and think it waters down creativity and the vision of creators, resulting in bland, by-the-checkbox stories afraid to take risks like we have so much of in the West... and why asian entertainment is so much more gripping, and taking so much market share while ours recedes. I don't want to support that in any way with my money.

All that said, I think FF7R still manages to be a fantastic experience, and the best single-player Final Fantasy experience since FF10, and therefore deserves to be rewarded commercially. And it's because the original characters, story and vision are strong enough to shine through IN SPITE of the "ethics department" and consultant groups who tried to hijack and water it down. The characters are still beautiful, interesting and nuanced. So this is nowhere near the Western slop that has been failing... it's still a captivating experience. But I sincerely hope Part 3 moves AWAY from the censorship and watering down, and not into more of it... it's balancing on the knife's edge of taking away from the experience, but so far for me, falls on the right side.

Uhm you are mixing things up: Teenage Tifa was changed, so she got her undershirt on and this was post release.

What's funny is, if you look at her OG concept art, there's not actually any real difference. The white shirt in her current model is actually smaller than her white shirt in the OG and the OG concept art, with the undershirt covering the rest of the area the white shirt originally covered. So she's actually showing the same amount of skin. If anything, her current outfit's actually slightly lower cut than her original one.
and if i recall there was like 1 scene that had some jiggle . I think peeps are remembering this throughout the whole game even though she had pyramids for boobs.

Look, maybe you're right about the neckline of the shirt being a significant censorship... Regarding the underwear, she wears boxers instead of briefs.

Even though it's a form of censorship, it actually makes sense for the character to wear boxers instead of briefs.

Oh absolutely, PS1 era was pre 'jiggle-physics'. I think maybe one scene got it and it didn't even look good, cause it was hand animated.

Some people just don't want games though, they want interactive porn and the game, whatever it may be, takes a complete back seat to whether or not they want to bone the female characters. I mean, just look at some of the posts in the DQ3 Remake forum, you've got people losing their absolute minds because the female warrior got a pair of booty shorts that you can't really even see in game.

No, I am not. BOTH were censored at different times, one going so far as to retroactively change game files with patches. As I said, it's the narrative impacts that are most troubling in FF7's case, so it's not worth it to me to argue over character models.

But the fact that the pro-censorship puritan faction rely so heavily denying or distorting facts speaks volumes about their world view, and the cost of letting them influence our great stories and games.

I specifically said the story changes were the bigger concern. But yes, continue twisting facts as the last several pro-censorship posts. That's all you have. I'm done here. Cheers!

This def seems to be the case. It seems everybody got swept up in McNews and became "politically aware" and now just want to ♥♥♥♥♥ about everything that is not their ideal scenario"
I really do hate the internet.
