using i3 8100 RTX 3060 12gb RAM 16gb Win10 installed on SSD
Go into your graphics software, make sure it is set to run quality not performance for this game and it should work.
I had done everything verify/reinstall/turned graphics all the way down, new driver and still crashed until i checked my amd software and found it had the game set to performance.
I recommend updating the driver and changing to window mode (instead of borderless full screen) and skip the cutscene. (saving right in front of Claudia's house helps speed up attempts)
Another solution is to try the game on a different computer. Even if it doesn't run the game well, the crash isn't about hardware power, but a bug, so a weaker computer could get around the bug. Then save and Steam cloud sync will copy the new save over to your main machine.
Today i boot it up, and every fight causes a fatal error. No matter what settings i use it doesn't help.
EDIT1
I got it to work again, by putting shadow and fog quality at low
I have character shadow distance and character display distance settings on 0 too. Not sure if related.
EDIT2
Nevermind. It crashed again.
Can people says if they have fatal error crashes in combat and what drive they have it on?
Installed it on C: drive which was an SDD. Crashed.
Installed it on E: drive which is a different SDD. Crashed.
yeah, that was the problem for me. i had to locked it in 60fps (90 before)
