How many people will upgrade their cards to play this?
I just finished FF7 Remake last night and eagerly waited for Rebirth. Turns out though I can't even play it with a 5700XT card. Mega disappointed :t0cactuar::cactuar:

I've already been looking to get a new card anyways, but realistically how many people with upgrade their cards to a £300 to £400 card that can run it?

And for all we know the performance cost for multi frame gen on older cards will probably be significantly more then it is on 5000 cards

I'm waiting too for official support to drop for DLSS 4 on older RTX cards. If I can get a free performance boost on my existing card, that'll be the first good thing I've had to say about Nvidia in some time, lol.
Frame gen isn't a free performance upgrade dlss 4 actually makes whatever base framerate your card runs the game at worse then its just slapping ai frames of questionable quality in-between go look at the latency time in those same reviews all it does is make the game look smoother in motion for videos and what not the game will still feel awful to play if your base framerate before frame gen is 30-40fps being multiplied to 250fps there's a reason why Nvidia is only showing the rtx 5070 using x4 frame gen cause no one with an rtx 5090 needs frame gen for anything besides the dumbest crap like fully path traced ultra settings 4k in cyberpunk.

I'm aware it's "fake frames", but if I can't tell the difference I turn it on. It's more noticeable if you set it to "performance", but still better than running running half the resolution natively.

I'm not expecting a x7 frame rate increase or anything like that, if it's just 10% better than the last DLSS, well, that's all the uplift you might be getting anyway when you buy a new card. In terms of "real frames".

You're confusing dlss upscaling with frame gen there's no quality setting with frame gen it's literally just how many ai frames are inserted between every real frame the problem with multi frame gen is those ai frames eat away at gpu performance for each additional frame inserted between every traditionally generated frame and that's with the increase in ai performance with the 5000 series with 4000 and lower you're going to see a much bigger performance hit to generate each of those ai frames to achieve 2x, 3x, 4x frame gen.
I swear some you ball lickers are the same people who claim switch games run perfect on your switch it must be a problem with yours sorta people.

IDK why people get cheap stuff. Save up and buy a good card, 80 or 90. Then it lasts 5+ years and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome.

Sad thing is most people won't be able to see the difference. Just like with unholy TAA

I guess you couldn't be bothered to actually read my message before calling me a ball licker. I didn't even mention frame gen, only DLSS 4 is getting last gen support.

I don't care for the AI direction Nvidia has been going down myself, but if they're giving us a free performance uplift, I ain't complaining.

You're suggesting people drop $1K on a 5080 when it's hardly a uplift at all in terms of raster.

The only reason to upgrade is for the enhanced AI features, which you appear to claim should be ignored because you can "see the difference".

Bro

I'm saying you should get a good card. If you got a 3080 or 4080 or whatever then it's a waste to upgrade.

The AI features are trash

OP. Do you enjoy DOOM games in general, and to that extent, are you looking forward to that DOOM that's about to come out in May? Are you going to be putting up a thread like this over there?

A ray-tracing card is a requirement for Dark Ages. So for some, upgrading won't be a choice.

It'll be a waste to upgrade to the 6080 too, if Nvidia continues down this path.

Whether you like it or not, AI is going to be the future for graphics cards.

Exactly, that's my point. And I am seeing lot of ppl asking should I upgrade for FF 7 the Rebirth my hardware specs? Well, this won't be your last game to play will it? Is my point.
Exactly! I'm upgrading because ever since I got a new 1440p monitor over a year ago, upgrade from 1080p, my GPU can not keep up with modern games. I'm upgrading for all games for the next 4-6 years.

For some modern games, not even DLSS can give a smooth enough performance.

I upgrade rarely and from 2070 S to 5080 I should get a 2.5-3x improvement, turning those sub 60 games into 160 fps games.

And I'm actually upgrading for Monster Hunter Wilds and Cyberpunk, actual great games, not mid games like Rebirth, but still, I'll delay Rebirth until I get that 5080. You know it needs patches...
It feels like this game is upgrade bait lol

Not really. It's a next gen only game and no more demanding than FF16.
