I'm aware it's "fake frames", but if I can't tell the difference I turn it on. It's more noticeable if you set it to "performance", but still better than running running half the resolution natively.
I'm not expecting a x7 frame rate increase or anything like that, if it's just 10% better than the last DLSS, well, that's all the uplift you might be getting anyway when you buy a new card. In terms of "real frames".
I guess you couldn't be bothered to actually read my message before calling me a ball licker. I didn't even mention frame gen, only DLSS 4 is getting last gen support.
I don't care for the AI direction Nvidia has been going down myself, but if they're giving us a free performance uplift, I ain't complaining.
You're suggesting people drop $1K on a 5080 when it's hardly a uplift at all in terms of raster.
The only reason to upgrade is for the enhanced AI features, which you appear to claim should be ignored because you can "see the difference".
I'm saying you should get a good card. If you got a 3080 or 4080 or whatever then it's a waste to upgrade.
The AI features are trash
A ray-tracing card is a requirement for Dark Ages. So for some, upgrading won't be a choice.
It'll be a waste to upgrade to the 6080 too, if Nvidia continues down this path.
Whether you like it or not, AI is going to be the future for graphics cards.
For some modern games, not even DLSS can give a smooth enough performance.
I upgrade rarely and from 2070 S to 5080 I should get a 2.5-3x improvement, turning those sub 60 games into 160 fps games.
And I'm actually upgrading for Monster Hunter Wilds and Cyberpunk, actual great games, not mid games like Rebirth, but still, I'll delay Rebirth until I get that 5080. You know it needs patches...
Not really. It's a next gen only game and no more demanding than FF16.
