How to get bonuses even if you have remake on epic and rebirth on steam
If you have Final Fantasy VII remake Intergrade on epic but and want the game to validate your save file to get the bonuses, all you have to do is go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\EOS

and copy the folder inside.
Then go to
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE

and create a folder and name it Steam and copy the folder from before and paste it inside this new Steam folder.
After go to your
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Steam

folder and in said folder there will be a folder with a bunch of numbers, copy the name of that folder and rename the folder that we put in
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam

and you are done.Hope this helps.

Do I need to rename the folder with numbers or do I just need the files inside that folder?
You are the GOAT

if you mean the folder that is in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam we just want to rename it.

you can also use a save file from nexusmods to replicate this if you played on steam previously but dont have the save file on that computer (or recently reformatted)

https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake/mods/1373?tab=description

just drop these files into the folder %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam and check for bonus content from the main menu. :)

you have to put these files in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\(steam id for the game that is same from following my process from before) or else the rebirth wont be able to find the files when claiming bonuses.

This should be pinned to the top, Thank you!!!!!
I tried this and unsure if I messed up the first time. I believe I have them in the right folders but still not showing up. will uninstalling and reinstalling both and trying again help?

you don't need to uninstall any of the games since you are working with your document files
just make sure that your folders in
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam
and
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Steam
have the same name(which should be a bunch of numbers corresponding to the id of the game on steam).

here is an image for example:

I had an additional folder layer in my REMAKE saves folder that prevented REBIRTH from recognizing my Epic saves. It had a name that appears to be a hexadecimal string.

Once I copied all of the save files from that folder and pasted them into %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\(Steam user ID)\, REBIRTH was able to recognize the save files.
