controller double inputs

i'm playing with a dualsense connected with usb and when i use the dpad it always double inputs so i can't choose certain abilities and stuff. Any idea how to fix?

I'd start with checking if steam input is on and turning it off if it is

Same problem here. Disabled steam input tried wired/wireless. Also seems to shift between xboks and playstation layout in the mappin config

to stop it from shifting between xbox/ps layouts go to controller settings then click R3 then pick i think symbols and it should show only ps

Saw this from a reddit article for the same issue but for FF7 Remake. Worked for me so far when I tried it for Rebirth:


Steam > Settings > Controller

Uncheck all options (Playstation, Xbox, Generic, etc.)

Save settings and close Steam completely.

Uncheck "hide controller" in DS4Windows. Controller will disconnect then reconnect.

Click "Stop" in DS4Windows. Controller will disconnect

Check "hide controller" in DS4Windows. Controller will connect

I wasn't able to use @Liniel's fix without adding HidHide. - Download and install that and hide the physical controller so that there isn't a virtual AND physical controller giving inputs to the game. Once the physical controller is disabled (leaving on the virtual) within HidHide, you should still pick it up as a PS4 controller within DS4Windows. This finally made the D-Pad usable within FF7 Rebirth for me and I'm now avoiding doubled up inputs.
