Claiming the Bonuses from Remake on Linux.
Hi all,

I was able to figure out a way to claim the bonuses you can receive from the first game on Linux.

Assuming you have both games installed on the same drive:
1. Open two new windows, and locate the compatdata of both games (Remake is 146240, Rebirth on 2909400), and go to:
pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/
2. Copy the Remake Folder from it's "My Games" and paste it on Rebirth's compatdata My Games Folder.

The game should then recognize the first game save folder which should then give you the bonuses.

My bet is you have to do this on the Steam deck as well, if you're playing there for the first time.

huh, no wonder it felt off, it was stuck at 1080p.

but yea you apparently just need to change it to windowed first and set the res from there.

You can probably get away with downloading the saves from your Steam Remote storage itself, however I haven't tested that yet.

I am having missing geometry on linux. Not sure if it is caused by DLSS, VRR, Nvidia, Proton etc. Dual booting to windows now to play, debugging later ;)

NVIDIA problem. VKD3D devs can't do much:

It runs pretty decent here on 7900XTX for a raytraced game (much similar to Indiana Jones ) so I was surprised to learn it's using Raytracing given it was never the strong point of this GPU on Linux.

I did that and it did change res but it still looks kinda blurry esp. in the menus. I hope we have another mod like for the 1st.
Alternative, inside said REBIRTH directory, you can just create a link to the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE directory - instead of copying the directory to the new game. By the way Linux works, that link is enough for Rebirth to recognize the directory and give the bonuses :monsterwealthy:

but this way you can't uninstall Remake and waste a hefty piece of digital real estate ;)

That could've probably worked, but I thought the fastest way was to just copy the folder itself. I did want to start playing the game lol.

on second thought, I'm not 100% sure it would work. Linked files are outside the sandbox and game may still be unable to read them.
I don’t know where to find the combatants file? :(
I have installed both games. My save games in remake is still there as well. Using Nobara
Finally got to the first 2 files. But pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/ does not exist for me
