Release Date doesn't always mean it unlocks as soon as the date turns over.
To be fair, that is what it SHOULD mean, but it's not.
Heck back in the day of physical releases being the main way people obtained games, not every game had a midnight release so you still had to wait until stores opened up to go get it. So really it's not like this is a new thing, though some revision is in order, I agree with that.
