How come it's 30% off?
That's pretty generous? Don't quite understand it though.

It is surprising. F7 Integrate was sold for 80 Euro with addon.
If you have a greenmangaming account you can get Rebirth for 43% off with their reward system. cant remember the name of it. its 30% without it and they add and extra 13%. Its how i got my copy of Rebirth because as a canadian... well the dollar isnt so cute and also taxes.. so

Only seeing 30%. Probably you had to buy some previous games for more than 30%?

yeah, gmg will give a little sale on nearly everything if you have used it a few times in the past, its never anything big but a constant 10% or so off is nothing to scoff at

Pretty much. It's a loyalty program whose main reward is flat discounts plus the occasional voucher to add a small extra discount (for instance I was able to add a 3% on top of the 43%, total came out to $38.36 for me.

Right! Stupid me, I just had to login. Was ages since I bought there (usually use Fanatical) but still getting 43%.
I'm sure it's a marketing tactic as well.

oh for sure, people who have already bought the game once will probably consider some sort of "well its on sale" and double dip.

its all about profit, but it helps us somewhat, so lol

Their way of atonement for failed exclusivity deals that in hindsight was terrible for this brand of remake that is unfaithful to the original. If the goal was to present a new FF7 story to a wider larger audience, why the hell would you lock it behind hardware and store fronts?

FF7 Remake took years to get to PC. One of the laziest PC ports I have ever played, and then it gets locked AGAIN behind yet another store front before launching on Steam.

As a pre-order incentive of course. They were hoping for a legacy to rival the originl but with this timed PS exclusive setup that they have been following so far, it hasn't quite been cutting it commercially. I am thinking they are playing the long game by getting it into the hands of as many interested PC owners as possible early.

Especially since the PS3 tech demo, a FF7 remake has been a dream for many. We now have the technology to exceed anything people we could have hoped for back then, but a lot else has also changed. I admit that I did not give the first part of this remake trilogy a fair chance until much later purely because the direction of recent mainline FF games left me alienated.

I did think the first part of this remake trilogy was fantastic and I wish all the success in the world for Rebirth on PC, if for no other reason than to show Square and the rest of the industry that well crafted gameplay gets better sales.
it releases on sale from the get go for 1 reason, game did not sell at consoles well
console players pretty much avoided rebirth for square scammin players with ps4 --> ps5 with ff 7 remake sales

If you remember, SE was disappointed by the sales when this game came out on PS5. They became worried about making enough money for their future projects etc. This is probably an incentive to get people to buy it. They were probably going to release it for the same price as FFXVI at $49.99, but someone thought if they raised the sale price and then showed it at a discount, there may be more sales. It does work sometimes.

They did this exact same thing for the PS5 release of the game: Offered it as a bundle with FFVII Remake for a discount.

When you release a game as a trilogy people are far less willing to buy 2 games so they can get in on game number 2. This deal is incentive for people who didn't buy Remake to buy them both.
