Now What, Another Bug?.
Hey to those that can still play this game, Kind of.

I've just spent two hours playing through the Junon area then suddenly found the open world attack button stopped working. [Square] on controller or left Button on mouse.

I first noticed it when i couldn't attack/break crates/boxes. But it does work in combat.
Tried rebooting game and reloading save.
Re-installing game.
Tried varying mouse+keyboard/ different controller configs.
It only works when i load an earlier save. But i did lose two hours progress, This is the second time it's happened now, The first was in the grasslands.

Anyone else had this issue.
Thanks
P.s I'm never going to get to the end of the game at this rate.

Nope, never heard of it. Are you perhaps in a town or area you can't attack at? Does it happen anywhere like the intel towers you know you can for sure attack at?

What if you fast travel does it fix it? Or take the chocobo back to the grasslands can you attack there?

Can you make a chocobo kick while you are riding it still? Also, if you can't fix it for some reason and even chapter reload doesn't fix it... your main loss is moogle medals from crates and minor items. You can still break them alternatively using the chocobo dash into them. Annoying but if you can't fix it may at least give you a way to get those medals.

It bugged out for sure, don't know why. Fast travel didn't fix. Chocobo would not kick. The save just bugged out.

Try loading a prior auto save or reloading the chapter. Also what if you reboot your entire PC if you haven't already?

Something corrupted the save, I've reloaded a save from 2 hrs prior and now it works. Now 'm paranoid and keep making sure the sword can be used before saving.

I would just keep 3-4 save slots rotating every slot between major tasks. It will help combat the oddball bug for quests, too, since there are rare cases apparently of some quests glitching. Seems rare (never seen any, myself) but better to not take the risk and lose 5+ hours of progress, right?

I've never even heard of anyone having the bug you had so it probably will not be an issue again, but doing so may help put your mind at ease.
