Worst and best chapters according to you ?
For me

Best:
- Chapter 1: The beginning in Kalm is awesome and the discovering of the open world (but the best part is to skip all the side quests intentionally)
- Chapter 8 and 12: The discovering of Gold Saucer remake (couldnt wait) and dating Tifa (FINALLY !! JUST ♥♥♥ HER BRO!!!)

Worst:
- Chapter 11: Cait Sith and the boxes. No further comments.
- Chapter 3: Mythril mine is boring.
- Chapter 13/14: The temple is too long and the end is a huge mess (like FF7R's final chapter).

Oh and ofc I just wanted to make Chadley suffers hard, so hard.

What about you lads ?

I loved Mt. Corel Ascent. The music is amazing. I also like moving upwards and mountain climbing/hiking. Really fun for me.

I'm not done yet as I've been too busy to play lately but so far...

Best:

- Smaller scenes with individual characters, like speaking to the different characters at the hotels, and their side quest interactions and stuff.

- Upper Junon, recruiting/parade prep (didn't care for the mini-game but it was ez so whatever), Aerith & Tifa in all that situation.

- Exploring Kalm re-imagined in modern fully 3D game was cool. I look forward to some of the other areas as such, too.

- 2K Mines, er Mythril mines, and how everyone owed everyone 2K was hilarious. #PoorCloud, no literally poor. He owes everyone 2K. Turks were cool to run into, too, and I appreciated being split off and controlling Barret/Red briefly, but not the tree climb / level design of that area.

- Red XIII at the QB tournament and the tournament, in general, such as announcement of each character and stuff. Aerith talking smack about beating me and totally getting stomped.

- QB Puzzles and Red XIII soccer.

- Combat is pretty good so far.

- Music is typically awesome.

- Seeing Barret act tough but go tsundere father mode on Yuffie.

- Aerith had some good moments on the beach, dialog wise.

- Good combat system so far.

- Chocobos are cool. Controls could be a bit improved, though.

Worst:

- Fort Condor which I was looking for turned out to be brain dead simple. Other than two gotcha losses (like boss stop spell, and one OP unit saw type) that were easy to turn around I won 8 matches one try each aside of those two and it required very little strategy as it was pretty obvious what I should do to deal with those situations and quickly apparent there was only one really good strategy to trump them all. Kind of lame.

- Some of the mini-games are kind of bad like the Cactuar search photo one, though I liked seeing the Shinra employee fangirl over them and gush over his family. Moogle capture is dumb easy and silly filler. Stuff like that feels like its just a bit too low quality. Lifesprings/tower collection is low quality and I often find the towers after having already explored the relevant objectives in the area...

- I felt some of the beach segments, such as Hojo or the weird ninja/clone stuff were very poorly done.

- Not enough bosses to enjoy this combat system properly, at least so far.

- Immediately controlling Aerith in Costa de Sol made it clear Cloud's physical mobility when controlled feels off and not as good despite controlling him almost exclusively in the game. She turned better and was a bit faster it seemed. Tifa is probably the same.

Posts like these suggest that a real remake without whispers/multiverse would have been a huge hit that appealed to old and new, traditional and modern alike. OP likes the things that basically just redo the original in better graphics.

I liked the Junon "dungeon" bit (the parade and all that), felt pretty close to the original but with modern visuals. Gold Saucer was pretty well made too and stuck close to the original. I also loved how you come to realize the interconnected nature of the world upon acquiring the Tiny Bronco (the floating version, that is).

But yeah, I agree on most of the bad stuff. Gongaga open world I didn't even bother exploring, the same with Cosmo Canyon (thanks to the awful Chocobo flight controls). Nibelheim dungeon with Cait Sith was awful, and the Temple was too freaking long, and the ending is once again too convoluted and pretentious with space platforms, nonsensical scenes and "whispers".

Honestly, yes

Chapter 11 is the worst, no questions. Actually the only truly frustrating part of the game for me. Those flying robots.. ugh

Everything else felt good, they made just being in this world really enjoyable. The music is incredible and character interactions are cute. Just have not to OCD on completing everything (Chadley combat simulator for instance)

Best:
- Mount Corel
- Upper Junon
- Temple of the ancients
- Mythril mines

Worst:
- Battle for naming rights, weird background music, screaming annoucer while you fight
- Cait Sith box throwing section
- Hojo starting ♥♥♥♥ at Costa (why?)
- Chadley/MAI

Best fights: Jenova Life, Palmer/Frogbot, Midgarsorm, Bike Roche

Everything was good except Fort Condor that sucked donkey balls. Thank you mods for letting me do it pn ez mode on hard xD

I also highly appreciate the rotating music and how it was natural and proper.

Really refreshing rather than listening to the same single song constantly as I play like in most other games, especially for modern JRPGs since you don't spend as little time in smaller areas like in classic JRPGs compared to here.
Worst, Chapter 12. Up until that point I'd been keeping up with all the side content. That chapter I just went, "<expletive> it! I just want to finish the <expletive> game!" Everything in that chapter just seemed so inane.

I think my favorite chapter was Upper Junon (Chapter 6?). I thought it was a nice update to the original. I even liked the Parade (although I hate that part in the OG).
Best: upper junon and the intro of gold saucer, anytime roche is on the screen
Worst: the temple felt way too long
The entire stretch from when you arrive in the Junon region until you leave the Corel region is an absolute wild ride of essentially peak gaming.

The Nibelheim flashback and the Grasslands were pretty weak, and obviously the Shinra Mansion was a low point as well, aside from Vincent. Gongaga and Cosmo Canyon were just OK. The final stretch of the game was mostly great, although not getting to explore the Forgotten Capital was a disappointment.

Yes a real remake without the filler than just expanded on what was already there doing it better, and did it in one game. It would have been great but also would have made less money though than selling 3 games.
I disagree--it is likely it would have sold more. Especially with DLC on side missions like Vincent, etc, people buying enhanced versions with updated engine, etc. on future generations. They would have had a huge hit on their hands with a faithful remake. Think like Skyrim or Witcher 3. Single game, Massive sales. DLCs. Etc.
You liked the temple of Ancient ??
