Current Best Stuttering Fix?
I'm asking because all the articles I've found for fixing the insane number of stutters were written around launch, and I intentionally waited some time for that to settle. Is there a best mod, best tweak scenario, best anything?

Cutscenes are CONSTANT stutters, both visual and audio. I can handle the occasional, but this is so much it's honestly an act of frustration to figure out what's going on.

My setup:

Card: RTX 3070
Processor: 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13600K 3.5GHz
RAM: 32gb
Windows 11 fwiw.

Happy to supply more info, and thanks in advance for help.

I'm running on a 4070ti super with barely any stutters, only have frametime peaks when new content is loading in.
Update your gpu drivers, like, right now. Win 11 patch 24h2 broke many games, it's important to update your drivers because GPU manufacturers are working on fixing this atm. Then, if you have an integrated gpu, disable it on bios level.
Try to disable anything that would cause unnecessary traffic over PCI as well. You can alternatively change your Message Signaling Interrupt priority on your GPU to "high", this has helped a lot of high end cards users I know, including myself. This is a rather advanced tweak though.

Also, like... have realistic expectations, you will not run this at 120fps 1440p, for example.
I run the game at 60 fps (capped at 120 in game, I used nvidia's software to cap fps), DSR x2, and DLSS set to 100/66 in game. I am locked at 60 fps/16.6ms frametime with that. You can also update DLSS with DLSS swapper to get a more recent version.

Also, clear your shader cache, re-generate it. <- very important

There's also engine.ini tweaks out there, but I haven't needed those myself to reach a stable experience. ^^''

You might also be a little low on vram, which will cause stutters. Try lowering texture resolution/detail.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, my goal is 1440@60. We'll see what I can manage. But I'm definitely not aiming for 4k, and am not aiming for higher than 60fps.

8gb vram is going to stutter no matter what you do

Can anyone comment or elaborate on this? A 3070 is higher than the minimum.

I solved all my stutters just by using a simple engine.ini file, specifically this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7rebirth/mods/3?tab=files. On top of that, I added some extra tweaks to improve the draw distance and shadow quality.

Report this bug towards Square Enix support still have it too try to not use better performance mods but only FFHook and change settings yourself in engine.ini /game settings.

I stopped my stuttering by not doing half of these things people say.
i let the game run as fast as possible, so for me that was 100-117fps at 1440p all high 66/66 dlss and it stuttered so i set the in game frame cap to 90 and voila stutter free

on a 3080 10gb
32gb ram
ryzen 5600
installed m.2
