Why is the whole team so easily defeated?
Like, come on, the party which killed countless fiends, legendary fiends, Shinra bosses, Turks bosses,... can be defeated by few guys running motobikes in Chapter 8 like a joke!

I would expect them to be beaten into pastes.

Can some one gives me a good explaination because I am disappointed. This is not logical because it conflicts with itself.

I'll probably come across as a defender of this game generally, but the entire sequence in Corel Prison is illogical AF, oddly so, because this wasn't an area that had plot holes originally. There's the ridiculous ambush, the ridiculous plan to enlist a random mercenary as their ace-in-the-hole Chocobo jockey, and the ridiculous idea that a whole bunch of locals are hoarding Chocobo greens because they know at some point they'll be worth more than gold.

I think you gotta let Rebirth take an L on this one.

O like in the Corel Prison that left a bad taste in my mouth. Come on Cloud you can dodge bullets and a homeless guy sneaks up on you, nah bro.
In my head I'll just say it's because he was especially sick from Sephiroth ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with his mind The girls I can understand and Barret is just a dude who goes to the gym
yeah like why were they even sneaking around kalm when they were being hunted by shinra makes no sense on account the party is virtually invincible according to my own head canon

Cloud was gonna, but the guy who gave them hotel rooms pleaded for him not to

The ONLY plausible explanation i can accept is one of the bandits had a knife in Aerith's throat and even tho Cloud is fast she could still had her throat cut and die, but again they have Cure magic etc... At this point i just turned my brain off and enjoyed the game for what it is, a video game... Trying to find logic in everything will just sour your experience in general but yeah it leaves a weird taste in the mouth.

Btw i think Cloud let the bandit hit him on purpose cuz he didn't want to risk Aerith's life in this situation, or at least this is what my brain is telling me to try and make sense of this whole segment.

I found it odd when I just casually walked through the Junon AF base literally on the red carpet that was laid out for Rufus with Shinra troops left and right and even operating elevators and gadgets next to their face.

Getting enlisted as a chocobo jockey is how you get out of it in the OG too, as far as I remember. ;p

They changed it enough to be more interesting while still keeping the concept the same. I personally thing they did a good job with Corel.

Well Real Madrid is worth billions and it can beat all other most powerful teams in Europe, yet it can also easily lose to worst team in Spain.
Group just didnt have their day.

I thought that in the original the idea was that getting out was the prize for winning the chocobo race, not that someone in the prison had a specific scheme upon seeing Cloud that he could do it.

Going by this they could just cast Raise when anyone dies. The magic doesn't really work like how it does in gameplay. Like, there's materia shops everywhere except nobody besides you uses it at all. Some things just exist for gameplay purposes but the Corel Prison thing was definitely a plot hole. At least have them wake up in the prison cell ffs.

Bullets are also random on when they're effective or not, like, i think barret could've taken a couple of shots like he did in the original, but the Teen rating is probably more important.

Yeah the team getting ambushed, and knocked out in Corel Prison was pretty bad writing. Kind of like the opposite of plot armor. Losing purely for the sake of the plot lol. It gets even worse later where they have multiple easy opportunities to kill both Gus, and Corneo but they don't. Just threaten them like Saturday morning kid cartoons. Why couldn't Sephiroth just possess Cloud to get him to kill annoying characters like that instead of no name soldiers lol.

They ran into an obvious trap like idiots, created a disadvantageous situation for themselves.

They are not invincible and still human after all (apart from Nanaki and Cait Sith).

Another argument only if you played the original FF7.

Beware only if you played the original FF7 Spoiler ALERT:

How would you explain the death of Sephiroth at the Nibelheim Reactor. Cloud should never been able to beat him there. He is one of the strongest beings in the FF7 universe. But the element of surprise lead to a situation where it was possible for Cloud. If you are okay with that , why not with the party being dumb falling for a trap

Team was overconfident dealing with common thugs, their guard was down and Clouds still human anatomy means he gets knocked unconscious when bludgeoned in the head from behind.

With the team completely surrounded and one member unconscious it makes more sense in the moment to surrender then to provoke a hail of bullets and see what happens.
