Jesus Christ i wanna die everytime she's on the screen and now she's obligatory and have a lot of screen time wtf were they thinking? All this kawaii quirky Disney princess bs is enough to make me hate her already, and i was very neutral with her OG counterpart, i even liked when she appeared in Advent Children.

Maybe i'm just getting old and bitter but this Happy-Go-Lucky attitude throws me off a lot

I already have to deal with all the Nomura non-sense, and now this?

Wait... Being energetic and trying to be positive is a bad thing? I'm not a fan of her childish antics, but I don't dislike her either. She is still a kid trying to cope with her loss of Sonon, Wutai's and her father's situation, what Shinra has done, the burden on her shoulders, etc. She kind of has to try and do her best to forcibly move forward and create a positive outlook if she doesn't want to collapse with the burdens on her shoulders. Perhaps you are severely underestimating what she is up against and dealing with?

Honestly, it might be a sign that you are both old and probably just shouldn't have kids, in general, as they're not really your vibe. Or maybe having kids would be precisely what you need to change your mind...?

I'm pretty sure this is merely major character misunderstandings by the player similar to Squall from Final Fantasy 8, Tidus laugh scene in Final Fantasy 10, Shionne in Tales of Arise, and so forth where they're widely misunderstood because individual are having trouble properly putting themselves into understanding their situation, context and why of behavior, and other nuances.

I'm not sure where you got the Disney princess part from Yuffie.

I haven't gotten to play much recently so I'm just past Corel but she hasn't had almost any screentime up to this point. Are you sure you aren't radically inflating her screentime? If you are using her in your party it isn't entirely surprising if she gets extra commentary, but that would be an optional on you thing.

You re also confused on this "Nomura nonsense" which is a pretty common mistake with the Remakes. The story's inspiration comes from Final Fantasy XIII, not Kingdom Hearts. Nojima is writing the story and Nomura is the director. Nomura and Kitase both have feedback to give at times but the core of the story is determined by Nojima.

Marlene is cute, the children in the children's secret area (in installment 1) were cute, the frog sidequest with the children + Tifas & Clouds cutscene was wholesome (even though I am a big Aerith fan), the children who lost the cute chick-babies were cute. The moogles are extremely cute and I was very happy when I saw their cutscenes. The dating scenes were wholesome. I was like a little girl again.
I even cried in that chapter 13 child scene - don't want to spoiler it here.
Later everyone tells their story, so everyones story is understandable.

Nojima may write the script but Nomura is still the lead designer in the project, he basically paved the way on how the Remake Project is going to be from the beginning, even tho he stepped out of directing it

I like Tidus and FFX is my personal favorite game in the franchise, i understand Squall, Yuffie and Tidus and i hate Squall and Yuffie because they are shallow, at least Tidus has a good story to listen to (hah) and amnesia is almost always a bad plot-device (when you don't know how to write it) but i digress i don't need to burn FF8 here

You can understand the character background and still hate them, Tidus wasn't being annoying just because of his issues (daddy ones and being "isekai'd" ones), i get that different people cope with their problems in different ways, in the case of Squall i just hate the whole teenager angst "whatever" thing and in the case of Yuffie, sure the whole Wutai background is very deep but the Intermission DLC was really bad in the way of telling this part of the story, the whole Sonon little sister thing was waaaaay too forced, just like most of Nomura games trying to do drama, it's always forced, cringe and bad. I don't even wanna mention the pizza scene in Remake or the ice cream one in Kingdom Heats, uhhh it's like Chekhov's Gun but done very badly.

I enjoy what Yuffie brings to the party... a childish wonderment. Her voice fits the character very well. Now if you want to talk about annoying, then I would bring up Chadley and Mia. I can't stand them with a passion. Also, Red... yay for anime cat dogs.... "Like, OMG guys. Like this is awesome!" Bleh.
