You really think real humans with guns would hesitate to shoot when they were trying to hunt him down in the first place? No. They would defend their village tooth and nail. It's terrible writing.
Men with guns who stand there with all 4 rifles pointed at him. Sure, I believe for one second they would just stand there and not shoot, even if it meant he would deflect the bullets.
People freeze in even less stressful/complicated scenarios with lower stakes. This is absolutely plausible.
Yeah, I don't buy it in this instance.
Not everyone who gets punched in the face just backs down.
When it comes to defending your home, you would, even if you think you wouldn't or couldn't. The will to survive is incredibly strong.
Or would you personally just back down and let someone murder you when you have a loaded gun pointed at them? I doubt it.
You might think that, yet, sometimes people do not.
It isn't about intent, sometimes the monkey brain just doesn't do what is the best course of action for a situation. Hence, many people freeze in emergencies.
I can understand not gunning him down immediately when you think you have him surrounded and detained, but the way they continue to just stand there as he cuts them down one by one is hilarious. It's not like he was moving so fast they couldn't react; he was slow walking to each one of them.
It was a confusing scene; I guess the idea is they were just completely paralyzed with fear.
I suppose I expected better writing from Square Enix, but seeing as how this is the same developer that decided turning FF7 into a multiverse was a good idea was expecting way too much.
