when steam games do have pre downloads its usually not till a few days before release so i doubt we'll see one anytime before the 16th

I wish they'd do preloads a week in advance for games over a certain size. When FF16 released, it took me 5 and a half days to download it on my internet connection and FF7 Rebirth is around the same size so I'm expecting at least that long of a wait again unless I go to a friends to borrow their faster internet.

If there was any pre load it would have been stated.
Since there is no talk about pre load so I highly thing there is no Pre load option.
Nor I don't fully care about per load but not everyone has fast internet so I am with the people who want pre load.

Damn I feel bad you, it only takes me around a couple of hours to download 100+gb games.

thats the point, considering the GMT time differences from country to country and the poor connection quality, it is much better to allow pre download some day before the official launch. this is not "day one" launch, if someone want to see the game can go on youtube.
If there is some issue with hacker or other things, simple don't put the EXE into the pre download. Hope Squaresoft can read our points.

Well my internet is 6mb/s download and 512kb/s upload when it maxes out... but the averages are generally lower and it drops signal a lot. The joys of living on a rural ranch in Texas and not having wired options and seemingly sitting on an eternal waitlist for Starlink.

Here is my speed and I feel your pain I remember Dial up internet. Talk about slow.
