IT'S NOT ABOUT THIS! We don't want to be forced to connect to the internet to activate a single player game, this is annoying for those on portable devices like Steam Deck or a laptop where the game has been installed for later use.
Also, there's the performance issues, extended load times and inflated exe file sizes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07NMuobVVwQ
Bethesda used Denuvo correctly in Indiana Jones by only having it in the review copies.
I totally understand your point of view but the purpose of Denuvo is to stop games from being pirated, in FF16's case, its absolutely doing its job. I have FF16 and if there is a performance hit, its very negligible, especially when using Lyall's fix.
Yes, stop piracy from people who don't buy their games, by infringing on the rights of customers who do buy their games. That's great.
Look at FF16 selling 280k copies. Do you think Denuvo helped?
Remake didn't have Denuvo because Square Enix immediately made a profit because of timed Epic exclusivity. That isn't happening with Rebirth. We may get lucky, though; since Crisis Core didn't have Denuvo, maybe they'll skip it here, too.
I just did a quick check on a prominent my Steam library, and it's not there, either. It will be once Denuvo isn't ruining it anymore.
If SE tell me that "our game is not good enough, people wont be buying the game, they will pirate it", then I hear it, loud & clear.
We don't have to pay to use the forums. Try again.
