How do I install Mmod?
I know this has been asked dozens of times here but how do I install mmod 1.3? No matter what I do I cannot seem to get it to install, has anyone installed it successfully and if so, how?

There should be insturctions on the mod's page or in the mod's files. What is your issue?
The issue is the instructions seem to not work, Whenever I load it up the way it recommends, it boots up to the valve intro, I press space to skip it and it instantly closes the game with no error message
I have figured out what I was doing wrong, to install mmod, you NEED to drag both the half life 2 update folder and the HL2MMod folder from HL2MMod > PUT THESE INTO SOURCEMODS DIRECTORY, I shall make a guide to avoid confusion.

First, half life 2 games, mmod and steam installation must be in the same drive. You can't have steam installed on C and half life 2 and mmod on D or whatever.

Second, your folders must look like this:

Steam/steamapps/common/half life 2
Steam/steamapps/sourcemods/*all folders from MMod*

Like this:

\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod
\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_EP1
\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_EP2
\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_HL2U

Then restart your steam client and mmod launchers should appear in your library as games.
Dude I just said I figured out what I was doing wrong....bruh

I'm just giving the real instructions to avoid another "bruh" who does not read README files.
I read the read me file, however, I did not believe that I needed to copy all the folders when I was installing it, this oversight lead me to forget the core "hl2mmod" folder.

you cannot have HL2 installed on a seperate drive from steam? Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. I have steam on my C: HD. And HL2 on my G: SSD. So your telling me because of this it wont work? Thats a hell of an oversight....

From the readme files provided within the mod

Due to the nature of this mod and how Source Engine 2013/Steam handles Source Engine content you !!!!!!!HAVE TO HAVE ALL HALF-LIFE 2 GAMES AND MOD INSTALLED ON SAME LOGICAL DISK/DRIVE AS YOUR STEAM INSTALLATION!!!!!!!, for example if you have Steam installed on C:/ drive, then you have to install all games you want to play and mod itself on the same drive ( C:/ in our case ), otherwise you will have a crash on startup or error saying "Unable to find surface properties". Same goes for Cinematic Mod support, same drive as mod/hl2 games.
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL ALL HALF-LIFE 2 GAMES YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH MMOD ON THE SAME LOGICAL HARD DRIVE/DISK AS YOUR STEAM, OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK.

Permissons work diffirently from a game made in 2004, imagine the code required to use content from other drives without anti virus apps and windows antivirus flagging it immediatly and permissons required and the fact that you would need to somehow copy the files to the other drive as its reading them to simply work, thats not dumb you just haven't done any lua coding or even made a source mod
Guys, fortunately y dont need to install all of the episodes and base game into same disc as steam, 4 worked installing on c: only source sdk base 2013 singleplayer 2013 from beta branch, cant rember where i found this solution

Well I have mods where Steam installed on my D drive, and HL2 games + HL2 Update & Source SDK 2013 on H drive, and it's working fine
