Bug in Route Kanal?

Hi together,

I am stuck in Route Kanal of "Half Life 2 Update" where I jumped into the water at the beginning and then climbed on the red container. I fell down into the container where a buddy and a Vortigaunt are waiting for me. The buddy is start talking to me but after 3 seconds the Vortigaunt is falling off his chair like he were killed by somebody else. Because I have the german retail version of HL2 the body of the Vortigaunt then disappears.
The buddy stops talking and stands in front of the door which seems for me the exit out of the container. He doesn't move away or open the door for me. So I am stuck.

That characters are "killed" without any enemy contact happens from time to time, for example in the railway station's main hall at the beginning of the game.

Does anybody else experience this?

I never heard/expierenced this problem. Open the game console and type restart... or reload the chapter from the new game menu.
