Hello again, @everyone. It's been another long period of time since we're formally updated you all, and we finally feel we're able to share details of why things have been so frustratingly quiet.

While the lead developer, Benjamin, values his privacy, he feels it’s important to share an update with the NN community.

Benjamin was involved in a DUI on federal land some time ago and due to the fact Benjamin is a permanent resident, it's caused complications with his immigration status. His sudden disappearance was due to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detaining him in early February and his subsequent legal battles following. This also offers explanation as to the current state of the game; it was never the intent to leave the game in such a state as it currently is, however Benjamin was the only one who had technical access to the builds therefore updates are still forcibly stalled.

Benjamin's DUI case has been resolved but due to the current backlog and the overwhelming number of cases, further court dates concerning his immigration status are significantly delayed. ICE continues to operate on its own timeline, often with little regard for the rights and wellbeing of those in its custody. Benjamin has a court date on April 14th, so we are hopeful in anticipating his return to be early May.

Despite these challenges, Benjamin remains committed to the game and this community. He deeply appreciates your support and understanding during this difficult time.

Our team remains dedicated to the development of the game and looks forward to sharing updates in the future when he returns. In the meantime, we kindly ask that community spaces remain focused on gameplay and that Ben’s privacy is respected. Measures may be taken to enforce this, as, at the end of the day, Benjamin is a person as much as everyone else and has a right to not be enveloped in rumors and disinformation.

Should this game be unlisted from the Steam store?

After seeing the recent news post on Reddit about this game's development being temporarily(?) stopped (without clearly explaining why or giving any sort of timetable as to if/when development might resume), I feel like this game should be unlisted from the Steam store. As much as I enjoyed playing the earlier version, the current version has so many major (i.e. run-ending) bugs that many people (including me) now consider it basically unplayable. And since there is no easy/built-in way to play the earlier version without knowing to consult a guide which may be removed soon, anybody who buys this game now is basically getting ripped off. Unlisting the game now will save people time and the hassle of going through the refund process. And, hey, if the dev actually does seriously resume development in the future, it shouldn't be a big deal to get it relisted. Assuming the dev is operating in good faith, then I don't think this would be an unreasonable action for them to take.

Even if it's unlisted it can still be played, with the state of the game and a troll hacker running around there won't be much more servers remaining up in the coming weeks if not days. I feel you, I liked this game, I put in 300 hours. However constantly dealing with game breaking bugs, having less players and servers, while also dealing with a hacker crashing lobbies really kills any drive to ever boot the game again in this horrible state.

Benjamin expects to resume working on NN in about 4 to 6 weeks. At which point we intend to expend significant effort to make up for lost time. We appreciate your support and patience and apologize for the delays.

People waited weeks for an update that never came. The dev said last weekend there would be a update and that became a lie. I was told to chill out and just "wait a few days" when I wanted a way to revert the game update. 3 weeks later the dev themselves share my guide on how to revert the game, rather than rolling it back themselves or adding 2 branches in the steam settings for the game.

People have the right to distrust the dev after all this bs, you don't need to go around every f***ing post copy pasting what the dev said on the discord. I had enough with every single issue with this game being met with 5+ shills claiming how the dev can do no wrong and everyone else that complains is wrong. YOU ARE WRONG. I love this game and I hate what has happened to it. That doesn't me I sit here going around posting copy pasted text from the dev and claiming everything is fine, EVERYTHING is NOT fine. Now instead of waiting days for a patch, then weeks for a patch, now it's going to be MONTHS for a patch. Seems people like you spend more time in the game then f***ing playing it. I got 300 hours and loved every minute of it, yet all I see is copy pasted posts from you.

No one cares if it "isn't dead" or they are "misunderstanding", people like you will sit there and defend the game even if the dev came out tomorrow and said they cutting and running. You would say, "well its because all the hate they got, it's your fault so it's ok!". Enough boot licking and shut the **** up.

They don't need to completely de-list the game, but they should at least have some kind of warning about the state of the game currently on the store page. They are quite literally ripping people off buy making them believe they're buying a new game still in development, when that's clearly not the case. Situation or not that's scumbag behavior.

Official announcement regarding development?

So I got this game yesterday, tried a few games; had some fun and I was looking forward to upcomming updates.

Now I've heard a lot about legal issues regarding the main developer Banjamin Goodwin.
I have also seen a lot of speculation on the forum but no clear answers.

Are there any official announcement regarding the status of the game and when development will continiue, if it will continiue?

I see people from both sides saying things regarding the games status as either a scam or abandoned (the negatives) or that there are no issues the game is great, development just hit a snag with this (the positives). But I concider both unrealiable without any official statement.


Thank you for reading. I hope for an official update from the Devs as soon as possible.
Will be refudning this game within the 2 weeks if I hear nothing.

literally a private matter that shouldnt have been hunted down to get. Ridiculous to think the creators have an obligation to release public matters of their life? And at that we do NOT know the full story. Everyone make mistakes, stupid ones at that. And at that, this guy made the game for fun, it was not made on a Microsoft level and I doubt was made to become famous. No one owes us an explanation or nothing, you're entitled for expecting that. After all its like a 10 dollar game that's less than a large combo at a fast food restaurant.
