The Dog refuses to attack aliens

I have tried a few different ways to get my dog to attack an alien. I've used Guard mode, follow mode, brought the alien to them and tried not attacking.

The dog will just sit or stand next to the monster as it tears off my limbs. I hope this is just a temporary bug because I want the achievement!

It's a bug, will probably be fixed in the patch in January.

I think a dog shouldn't attack anyone. It just barks stupidly, warning with a sound.
