Nuclear Nightmare
They've cut and run, go figure.
Another early access title where the devs earned money hand over fist by shear volume of sales and now they've cut and run. Typical trash devs these days. They've sold over 200k copies, even with the 30% steam cut that puts them at over 800k USD earnings from the game. Blacklist and move on, just another typical EA scam title that looked promising.

"I am afraid that further development on the game itself at the current time is beyond our ability."

"Benjamin, the lead developer for Nuclear Nightmare, is not able to work on the game due to conditions outside his control and as a result we are not able to provide game releases in the short term. Benjamin expects to resume working on NN in about 4 to 6 weeks."

They can't get their story straight, refuse to elaborate, and are breadcrumbing just like 90% of the other Early Access devs do when they decide not to support their product anymore so that they can keep those that believe them around to try and get more sales in.

If all it takes is one person to be out for them not to be able to roll back an update there are serious issues with their studio. To add insult to injury, rather than rolling back their broken to hell update they left it and only gave instructions on how to roll it back yourself rather than fix the mess they made, but conveniently after their messed up update they post conflicting messages of "Further development is beyond our ability" and then backtrack and say "oh but 4-6 weeks guys" That reads as a desperate way to try and get people to not post abandonment on their forums to still trickle in sales.

Post is staying up until they actually release an update as they aren't the first E.A. dev to pull this kinda crap.

I'd say probably not 800k, Quite a lot of those sales happened on sale, but still a pretty huge chunk of change. Dev cutting and running is really no surprise and I called it along with others. Such a shame too, but hey, that's how things go.

At least now another dev could possibly make good money by making an actually good version of this game if they were smart. We all know that people are hungry for it.

Yea man I'm pretty bummed. At least I got 50 hours in for the game. I only paid 3.50 or so. Sucks tho I will miss the playerbase and the fun times had. 800k lol.. I guess he can't afford 100k out of the good of his own hurt to hire a dev who can actually fix the bugs.
I'm confused, do we know for CERTAIN? My friend and I guessed maybe something happened that caused a disagreement or something along the lines of maybe something happened with the code. I only saw the announcements in the server not long ago, but this doesn't read as abandoning.

Dev literally announced on reddit that development is stopping, the game is currently broken without you having to manually go into the files or revert to a previous version to play it normally, the roadmap given basically no longer exists and they can't/won't go into detail as to why they are stopping development.

Ah, I haven't seen the Reddit, only the server.

Now, you can decide to not believe the developer and decide that this is an abandoned game, sure. But from the dev's mouth, it's not a permanent halt on development.

I suspect it has something to do with the loss of code, or loss of equipment, hence the "frustratingly can't continue developing the game", etc. *shrug*
I guess we'll see what happens.

The developer hasn't said anything. Other people are speaking for him. Most likely he got frustrated trying to fix all the bugs and ragequit

Wtf he announced development is stopping? Bro really cashed out his 800k and quit his job too.
Zeromentor Feb 14 @ 11:36pm
800K? Where'd you get that figure? Last time I checked they barely sold over 10k copies, and at the max price of 7$ that's not even ten percent of your total, even before taxes or steam's cut.
Use the Boxlieter method to calculate game revenue. Here's a link.

It was posted by Midnight Researcher from BG Productions, and signed "-Seth".
I mean, you can say they are lying and that they are going to cut and run, but this is still the official announcement they made.

Steamspy has proven to have an accurate account of numbers sold to within 10% of any given titles sales numbers at the time of their posted report. Steamspy reports 220k as the bottom level. They do this using their algorithm which combs through and records each unique profile that launches the game. If you cut out 30% of that bottom number of profits based on steams cut, and an added 10% of variance they steamspy themselves state is their algorithms margin for error you will end up finding that no, that number isn't borked and is at the very low end of what steamspy is reporting.
Nobody abbandoned anything.
"Hello @everyone

We want to provide the community with an update. Benjamin, the lead developer for Nuclear Nightmare, is not able to work on the game due to conditions outside his control and as a result we are not able to provide game releases in the short term. Benjamin expects to resume working on NN in about 4 to 6 weeks. At which point we intend to expend significant effort to make up for lost time. We appreciate your support and patience and apologize for the delays.

We are trying our best to resolve this as fast as possible and will keep you posted when we have updates. We all understand your frustration and we sympathise with you. Thanks again we appreciate you all." word for word copy paste from their DC.

They've posted the above as well.
