I was going to write the same thing. McAfee, Norton, AVG.
Yikes.
To publish a game on Steam requires quite a bit of work. The developers/publisher firstly have to agree to some terms in which they claim that what they are publishing doesn't have malicious elements.
In addition Steam thoroughly investigates the application before it is published on their store.
Lastly, there are millions of us who go the extra mile and snoop through code for one reason or another. Some to cheat, some to mod, others to mess around in different ways. Something such a virus or anything that could harm your computer in anyway would be identified by somebody and the game would be reported resulting in a quick removal.
Steam doesn't mess around with this stuff so be rest assured, what you're finding is a false positive.

Norton is the Hulu of AV's. It's just trash.
What do you do if this doesnt work. Now the game in steam says updated failed and will not do anything else. It shows disk write error.
You need to go into your AV and go to the quarantined files, and make an exception for the file it blocked for this game.
