Dogs
Why do dogs get randomly infected? Every time I have 100% eyes on my dog and I kill anything that spawns (I used heat vision perk to verify) my dog just gets infected, even though I make sure nothing gets near it. I even infected check it by whistling often. It seems that my dog getting infected is tied to enemy spawning, as it usually becomes infected after one does, regardless of whether or not the enemy reaches anywhere near my dog.

aerial infection was box-check in lobby settings? otherwise seems weird. but I personally like The Thing setting that the loyal watchdog that barks to the darkness and bolts off, disappears, later walks back. will be the eventual end of you when it turns into a monster. Chilling vibes!

Airborne was not enabled. And sometimes dogs do actually run off and come back but in testing i made sure to whistle it back before it could run off. I think Dogs are a viable resource and should be able to be infected, but i think by default currently they have their infection works like airborne. Unfortunately we have no way of potentially saving them, even with 100% eyes on.

Sadly huskies get infected just from being within the close vicinity of an enemy and don't need to be attacked to become infected. Making their usefulness quite limited as little more than a motion detector.
can confirm the proximity infection, I had 3 dogs I told to Sit near the drones at the airport while I did objectives, all 3 collected during the first day and with air/mass infections disabled. when night came, one of the tall big headed guys spawned and ran past them about 2-3 meters away, dogs never moved a muscle. soon one of those dogs turned, and with a heavy heart I threw a grenade at the other 2 knowing they were probably infected as well... on another note, it feels like telling an infected dog to Guard almost always causes it to turn instantly, so be careful with that too.

How to make the Dog attack a monster? I put it on Guard mode and it just stays and looks and monster either just pass him and kill me or it kills it instantly... ? It's the only Achievement I don't have, someone help please

You get the achievement by killing the monster while the dog is running at it. the dog itself doesnt attack i think

Aerial Infection is a possibility, but assuming that wasn't turned on then the next two options are the biggest likelihoods-
1. The Husky was infected by Tendrils left on the ground after the death of an infected. These look like thing black snakes and CAN infect players or huskies that they touch.
2. Pre-infection, as in the husky was infected before you trained them. This is very likely to happen by the first night, and you may as well assume ALL huskies are infected during the first night.

As the OP stated they, "Killed anything that spawned" I assume the infection was caused by number 1, which happens more often than people think.

They definitely need to dial it down a bit, as things stand being anywhere near the dog is just a huge liability, not to mention the emotional trauma

pre infection is ruled out, you can whistle and infected dogs will turn
