This is mainly a PvE survival horror co-op game, the only asymmetrical PvP aspect it's an afterthought of adding a chance of a player that was infected to become a playable infected after death.

It is almost entirely PVE coop if you die you will usually have your body taken over by AI you might have a chance to come back as an alien but its honestly quite a weak alien compared to the regular NPC's
