Game Crashing
Hello,

I've done some searching but I can't seem to find anything on this, but I bought the game managed to get into the tutorial, decided to change same settings to graphics and the game crashed my computer. I restarted it, verified the game, installed it uninstalled it, but the game won't let me get past the splash screen and gives the following message.

"LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\D3D12Util.cpp] [Line: 926]
Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource

Crash in runnable thread Background Worker #11"

Followed by this message

"LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\D3D12RHI\Private\D3D12Util.cpp] [Line: 926]
Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource

Crash in runnable thread Background Worker #4"

Anybody else had this issue?

My specs are:

CPU: 5800X3D
GPU: 6800XT
RAM: 32GB
STORAGE: SSD 1TB
RESOLUTION: 5120 x 1440

The only other information I can give was I was changing the settings to photo realistic to see what the difference was.

It looks like the crash indicates that your video memory is running out. Do you have anything intensive running in the background? Or overclocking enabled?

Hello, thank you for the reply. No nothing that more demanding video games have any trouble with. Why is why I don't understand why its running out of VRAM. Does the game store any logs I can send you?

I have an update for you. I used an advanced uninstaller and deleted any trace of the game and that allowed me to boot it up again and finish the tutorial. I've done some testing to see what caused this and it appears to be a settings issue. All my settings are preset to very high when I start the game up, so I began moving them to photo realistic. It appears to be the Post Processing one that causes the computer to hang. Even when I only change that one by itself it causes my computer to freeze up.

In summary I'm back in the game, but I won't mark this as solved unless you tell my current setup isn't able to handle that setting in photo realistic. Although I'm able to play more demanding games with similar settings as previously stated.

You should be able to handle it, your specs are in line with a 3080 which would have no problem running the game. For example I am able to get 120 fps on a 4060. However, the issue is related to your video memory. Are you able to tell me the size of your video memory?

The map is quite large so there are a lot of textures which if you have a small amount of vram could lead to crashes. Have you tried running on lower settings?

I mean its running on very high atm just fine. As for the VRAM here's a screenshot of it.

I've just seen the most recent update added a crash reporter. Would you like me to simulate the crash again so it can send you a report?

Sure, but I believe it will still say the same thing in regards to vram exceeding. Please join the discord so we can assist in debugging your problem. It seems hardware specific.
