Switch / Steam account linking?
Just curious, as I have a few friends that started playing this new version on the Switch; will they be able to link their Switch account to their Steam account so that they can play with the same data on both platforms?

I think they may have an account link but I am unsure about the console versions and pc versions being able to get linked, since the same think happened with the playstation and pc versions. The Playstation version has its own servers aswell as the Switch and PC version. I think you'll be able to link your account from the PC version to your steam account. I don't know if they'll be able to link their progress to the steam version though, since it is impossible to transfer your PC data to the PS4 and also from the PS4 to PC and same goes for switch. So I am not sure.. :steamsad:

Thanks for the reply. It would be nice to get some official information from a CS representative but it doesn't look like they read anything here right now.

I got a reply from the OnigiriUS Twitter about this!

So basically, no, you can't link Switch and Steam to play with the same data. Might suck for some people, but I don't own a Switch so I'm fine with it.

so they will allow crossplay? sorry for the late reply btw

Crossplay is a thing, so you can play with Switch players on the same server with your Steam account via PC, however you cannot use the same data you use on one platform to play on the other.

So basically if you make a character on the Switch version you can't play it on the Steam version despite being able to crossplay.

So the "thing" works like this... If they (Switch&PC) dont share that info. then i don't see why player data (on switch) has to be stuck only on their own server being unable to save it in Nintendo cloud service...
I say this because i played other mmo thirdparty on switch and i was & i do save game data on console , server and N.cloud service... I'm disappointed guys. Have a nice day! :steamhappy:
(I edited to correct some mistakes)

Now that the game is out I can test out to see if I can transfer my onigiri data from the original pc version to the steam version? :Lisbeth:

Darn. Seeing the replies saying no makes me sad. I got a bunch of games that were on steam so that way I can link my account, seems like I can’t(also seems like I spent hours on playing games) ;-;
