onigiri switch ver. ending service
they claim that steam version will continue to exist even after switch closes but makes me feel like our days are numbered lol...
its a little confusing because i was always under the impression that there were more switch players than steam players here but i guess i was wrong

Stay positive, Cyberstep partnering with Catheon Gaming means that longterm sustainability is going to be required for web3 to be implemented feasibly.

wont that be its own separate game/server though? or am i mistaken? if it is, thatd make me even more worried that theyd shut down these servers in favor of the metaverse game

Switch version had more players, but most of them did nothing, so there was no profit

You're wrong the switch players likes buying clothes and what not, they support Cyberstep by buying clothes. the rift players i mean.

Current plan is to integrate P2E into current servers, aka no server wipes ^_^

Lovely. Servers are down. They say there's a transfer code to use. It was available days ago (thankfully I wrote my code down). Servers being down indicate the code is also not retrievable for anyone trying at this point, even though supposedly the Switch servers themselves would be "sunset" by now (which makes for a conundrum). But even at that, there's no way to even enter the code for Steam now because, alas, once again, it wasn't implemented, and the servers are down anyway.

It's the 27th in JST. Well past whatever was supposed to be done. Quite dishonorable.

Doesn't clarify anything as whatever you tried to link has been deleted. All they last said was "it has been delayed". That was hours after my commentary, for context.

Switch players need to download the TW or Jp Client to transfer data over to those. join here to get more info https://discord.gg/v3xmNXTn

here is a link to the windows JP Client https://cdn.cyberstep.com/JP_Onigiri/clients/Onigiri_JPsetup.exe I just got the game download and linked my Switch Account if anyone needs me to I can make a small Guide with Screenshots on how to get the game in to English or you can use Google Translate app on a mobile device which is what I did.

So I just did a thing LOL Download Onigiri Here on Steam run the game close it Download The Windows JP Client https://cdn.cyberstep.com/JP_Onigiri/clients/Onigiri_JPsetup.exe Install it let it Download. Start the game with the Orange button on the bottom left side of the Onigiri Launcher the game will need to finish Downloading in the mean time follow the instructions here https://crossplay.onigiri.cyberstep.com/info/topic/news/95567/ (use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome to Translate if dose not do it automatically just right click and hit Translate) For how to get your Nintendo Switch transfer code and how to use it. when you are done you well have your Switch Account on PC. When the Game is done Downloading Start it and make sure you have Switch stuff. if so close the game. Now for what I just Tested out and it works LOL in Steam go to your Steam Library right click Onigiri and select Properties than select Local Files than select Browse. ok now at the top in the address bar should look like Steam\steamapps\common\Onigiri now select common right click on Onigiri and select copy now paste it somewhere else this will be your Steam back up copy. now go back to Steam\steamapps\common\Onigiri Now the fun part under Steam\steamapps\common\Onigiri delete everything but steam_api.dll now leave this window and open a new one and go to where you installed Onigiri JP for me I used the default location C:\cyberstep\Onigiri_JP now when you are in the Onigiri_JP folder select and copy everything now go back to the Steam\steamapps\common\Onigiri window and right click paste Congratulations You Now Have Your Switch Account and you can play through Steam when you now hit Play on Onigiri in Steam it will open the JP Onigiri Launcher now just hit the Orange button on the bottom left side of the Onigiri Launcher to play. (IMPORTANT INFORMATION) (I DON'T KNOW HOW ANY STEAM UPDATES TO ONIGIRI WILL EFFECT THIS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW BUYING STUFF WILL WORK YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)(STEAM UPDATES WILL MOST LIKELY MAKE YOU RE-DOWNLOAD THE STEAM VERSION SO YOU WELL NEED TO DO ALL OF THIS AGAIN SO DON'T UNINSTALL THE JP VERSION) P.S. It Literally Took Me Longer To Type This Out Than It Was To Do It LOL

So, is there any hope of relinking from Japanese to English server?
I managed to use your steps, but now linking to the main Steam version feels hard to do.

I'm not sure it's possible. Apparently the dolirect download is a different version than the one designed for Steam. You're required an email sign up. With Syeam, that isn't requisite and instead you have your own profile for Steam.

It feels like a similar situation to Honkai Impact and Kritika Global, because their developers also mentioned a similar downside to their cross progression plans.
